Notes: The USS Dauntless was nearly destroyed during the Breen Attack on the Chin-Toka System. She took a Breen Dampter on the Saucer and quickly took multiple torpedo shots and the crew ejected her warp core and the resulting explosion destroyed a Breen ship and also have the side benifit of giving the appreance that the ship had been destroyed but howver she almost was destroyed.

The USS Dauntless was salvaged less then a week later as several repair crews came through the area. the Breen were less then sucessfull in wiping out the fleet because they destroyed 240 from 311 ships. most of the wrecks that were salvaged were either Klingon or Federation, some of them saw action again several weeks later, others like the USS Dauntless, needed Years of Work.

The Commander of Starbase 74 had decided to show Starfleet that if it could be destroyed or listed as "Destroyed" it could also be repaired so then VAdm Mancuso ordered the repair and restoration of the USS Dauntless and after a long time and a Promotion Later Admiral Mancuso formaly decided to rename the ship. The Name of USS Dauntless went to a Newly Built Galaxy III Class Starship

This Ship was truly special. the Techs, Engineers and the other personel assigned to the project went for the full extras package on this ship. they also added another deck and increaced the height by 10 meters, making this ship, the tallest in the Entire Fleet.

Her Tactical Systems were also enhanced with Type XII Phasers and Quantum Torpedos, also adding a 4th Torpedo launcher didn't hurt either as the USS Relentless could now shoot 20 Torpedos in Either Direction and the 5th was only uncovered when the ship was in seperation mode and the saucer could also shoot torpedos but only when the ship was seperated, just as on the regular Galaxy Class.

The Medical Facilities on this Ship were also enhanced. This ship could now handle over 5,000 wounded where the regular Galaxy Could handle about 1,000. the Marines on this ship had the equivilant to Boot Camp or a High Tech Barracks. any Marine unit can be stationed on this ship. be it Mechinzed, Infantry or Armor. The Sensor and Science Systesm have been inspired from the Intrepid Class and can detect a Romulan Warbird while cloaked and also at warp speed

Starfleet is eager to hear about his this ship preforms in Serivice and will recomend Class Production if the ship performs well enough, if the order for Class Production is given, it is likely that this ship will replace the Older Galaxy and Galaxy II Class Starships currently under construction now
