| Saerevon Caer`Thalarin Kiran {Duke} of Hrive`Liuothol | |
In the frigid northern Duchy of Hrive`Liuothol, also known as Winterspear, Saerevon Caer'Thalarin a Grey Elf Mage, holds the reins of power as the Duke of Winterspear. Born the illegitimate son of Valishar Rhysanus Ariquis, Saerevon's lineage, steeped in royal blood, carries the clandestine whispers of the court. His unusual birth, marked by a silver dragon-shaped birthmark on his left forearm, hints at the mysterious forces shaping his destiny.
Saerevon's existence unfolded in the discreet corridors of power. After the death of his second wife, Rhysanus sought solace in the arms of the Royal Sajorte T'Sharra Caer'Thalarin. Despite the precautions taken by the Sajorte to prevent unwanted consequences, T'Sharra found herself with child. Initially deemed fragile and unlikely to survive, the sickly infant, bearing the distinctive birthmark, caught the attention of the King upon his return to the realm. Using his magic, Rhysanus healed the child and pledged to ensure his well-being.
Saerevon and his mother were granted special quarters within the Palace, and he was raised as an only child, oblivious to his royal heritage. In Elven society, there is no stigma attached to illegitimacy or T'Sharra's profession as a Sajorte, an ancient and honorable order integral to Elven life. Rhysanus, however, insisted that the truth of Saerevon's birthright remain concealed until the right time.
Saerevon's journey into the realms of skill and magic commenced at a tender age, showcasing an unprecedented aptitude. A prodigy, he began his training a decade earlier than the customary age for apprenticeship, under the tutelage of Rhysanus, who instructed him in the ways of a Ranger, a wizard, and a Mind Mage.
Upon reaching maturity, Saerevon, having completed his apprenticeship, faced the Valishar and was anointed Duke of Hrive`Liuothol. The Valishar promised that on his next birthday, all the lingering questions within him would find answers. The discussions between Saerevon and Rhysanus on that fateful birthday remain shrouded in mystery, but a profound transformation overcame the young Duke. Formerly somber and easily distracted, he now exuded focus, drive, and satisfaction. While his relationship with Rhysanus seemed strained, it remained functional, and his bond with his mother deepened.
In the heart of his palace gardens in the capital of Hrive`Liuothol, a monumental statue stands tall. Crafted from crystal, it takes the form of a dragon cradling a single rose. Those who have glimpsed this statue recognize it as the once-resident of Teradryn's Kings Garden, The cursed transformation of Rhysanus's wife Silvarae, who fell victim to Styphon's malevolence.
