Ce`Nil Erika`Celduin
Te`Estaira of the Temple of Larini
Priestess of Larini

Ce`Nil started her service to the Goddess Larini as a wandering paladin. She intended when she set out to settle in an area for a decade or so, and teach the truth to those of the area, and when enough people had dedicated themselves, she would send for a priestess so she could move on.

Her first stop was a town called Haven. A mixture of races, primarily human, held this bastion against the monsters of Grondor. Ce`Nil stopped to assist the local temple of Dragonwright with a problem they were having and became an associate of a number of people. They successfully solved the problem of the locals and were given an island in the nearby river as a reward. The group decided to use this island to form a base of operations. When they arrived on the island, they were greeted by a number of the gods, representing each of the groups members. The group was instructed to continue working together to fight an evil that was trying once again to arise. When the gods departed, Ce`Nil dumped out a vial and scooped a portion of the dirt from where Larini had stood. As soon as possible, Ce`Nil took her share of the adventuring bounty and had the vial made unbreakable, thus creating a personal holy relic.

Over the next couple of years Haven grew from a small community to a large city, and the beginnings of a restored kingdom due in large part to the efforts of the Heroes of Haven the name the adventuring party was given by the locals, (much to Ce`Nil s embarrassment.) Said efforts had come in the form of a half elf Paladin named Galadron Starfire, who the Heros of Haven had rescued from some Magic Circle that held him in Suspended animation for nearly 5000 years. Ce`Nil was generous to her temple frequently donating all of her portion to various of Larini s churches. In spite of this, she managed to accumulate enough gold to completely fund the building of the new Cathedral in Haven.

During this time Ce`Nil fell in battle several times, and was restored to life, although only once through divine intervention. She only held tenuously to sanity through being repeatedly removed from the presence of her goddess by deciding that it was Larini s will, and that she would eventually be granted rest.

Also, during this time a deposed god s avatar was accumulating new followers and regaining power under the convert or die method of operation. Eventually the fledgling kingdom and the monster races came to regard each other as threatening. The Monsters worked their way closer to Haven, so King Galadron, his guard, and the Heroes went out to the parlay. The avatar was now of sufficient strength that he had regained the godly aura of power and when negotiations were not going according to his desires, he challenged the king to single combat, with the caveat that if no one answered, or if the challenge lost that the king and his people were to leave the area within a fortnight and the lands would then belong to the Monster races. Unfortunately for the kingdom, he also inflicted his full aura on those present at the same time. Ce`Nil was the only one able to withstand the power (a fact that she credits to her bearing the holy relic) so she accepted the challenge, but was unable to defeat the avatar, and thus lost the kingdom, much to the dismay of Galadron and his people.

Fortunately, just when the people were having to disband, the Gods once again intervened and a Messenger in the form of an Elven King named Rhysanus Ariquis of Arethane Offered that all of the people were welcome to have homes on a new Elven settlement on the Island of Vordan. In ancient times Vordan had been an elven kingdom named Jordaine and had fallen to the Humans during the Elf/Human wars. Since that time the Island had become a vassal state to the Kingdom of Harak and over the years changed names to Vordan. About 300 years hence a plague had struck down the population and the Island went mostly unpopulated save for a few very small communities. Rhysanus decided to set up an Elven settlement there, however at the same time, Harak began resettling Vordan as well. The Humans claimed the southern portion of the Island while the Elvan Settlement claimed the North. The new settlement became the Duchy of Vordan and Galadron would be named Duke of Vordan, and so save for those humans who preferred to seek sanctuary with the Humans of Harak, nearly everyone journeyed to Arethane and set up anew in the Duchy, with their king now Duke.

Over the next 20 years nothing of great impact happened save that after Ce Nil went temporarily to the new Ducal capital, to help set things up, she relocated to Teradryn to serve at the main Temple of Larini but found her service as a Paladin lacking the same luster as it once had. She continued on for a few years then eventually petitioned Larini directly to switch her vocation to temple priestess and was granted the rank of High Priestess at the temple there. Her time as High Priestess was far more fulfilling to her and the 20 years passed swiftly until one day news of Vordan arrived in Teradryn, brought by one of the Hero s of Haven, a Surface Drow named Jaraliss Noquar, who most often went by the name Sleanra. A human General named Seth Corvase, part of the group that had resettled Vordan had moved back to Harak to serve the King of Harak as his Minister of War. Corvase was known for hi intense hatred of elves and under his direct command, the Duchy, and all, some 25000 elves were slaughtered man woman and child.

Using this event as a catalyst, Rhysanus declared war on the Humans of Vordan. He had decided that the reunification of all Elven lands, must become a priority and set a plan into action. His first action was to order the Retreat. The Retreat was a proclamation that All Elves would begin to Migrate to Arethane to be given new lands and homes safe from the Humans and various races that would harm them. He send out parties of elves to begin to reclaim all Elven artifacts throughout the world. Everything Elven, from artifacts to graves site, building to ruins, were to be painstakingly sought out and brought back to Arethane. Nothing but the land itself would be left behind. The only elves to remain on the mainland were those involved in the gathering. He knew the retreat could take Centuries to accomplish but What is time to an Elf. His third action was the reclaiming of Vordan. His threw massive forces against the humans on Vordan. The humans were hit hard and with little mercy and the war was short lived. Within weeks Vordan was taken and renamed Jordaine and once again part of Arethane. Both Ce Nil and Sleanra fought in the war and in some small way felt she had avenged the deaths of her Galadron and the other hero's of Haven.
