The Sith

Sith training is the method by which a Force Adept is forged into a full-fledged Sith. While all methods of Sith training have the same goal of crafting the initiate into a powerful, dark side-fueled weapon, there are many different methods and traditions for doing so, as a result of the frequent reformist actions undertaken by the various Sith Lords. However, many aspects remain constant.

Firstly, as the Sith are possessed of considerably higher standards than the Jedi, their training is a great deal more intensive and much more exclusive. As it is geared towards weeding out the weak, it is quite often potentially lethal. Sith adepts are taught to draw upon their rage and use the Force as a weapon and a tool for personal advancement. Overt displays of power, such as advanced Force techniques and martial prowess, are focused on.

Entering Sith training depends heavily on which organization is dominant. The Sith Empires relied on academic institutions for teaching prospective Sith, while some Sith Lords relied on a much more exclusive system of scouting out prospective Tyros and recruiting them. The primary difference between the two is that the academy system is applied during periods when the Sith are massed together into a political and military force, which required large numbers, while the other system was applied because a much higher standard is needed.

Entry into the Sith academies is again dependent on the rules of the dominant organization. Most prospective Tyros, or as they are also called, students have to be sponsored by one of the academy instructors, however under some Lords, the only requirement is to be Force sensitivity, and the rigorous training regimes themselves are relied upon to weed out unfit candidates. One quality that has allowed the Sith to survive after so many millennia is their ability to adapt. Despite the inherently traitorous nature of the Sith, the Sith Empire's hierarchy is suprisingly rigid, and has a rank structure that ensures that all war efforts do not suffer from infighting. Sith Tyros' fighting capabilities are surpassed only by their rage and selfishness.

The "Sacrifice"

"…Taking the life of an innocent is always harder even than taking your own, if you're sincere. This is the ultimate test of selflessness—whether you're ready to face unending emotional pain, true agony, to gain the power to create peace and order for billions of total strangers. That is the sacrifice. To be vilified by others, by people you know and care for, and for your personal sacrifice to be totally unknown to those billions you save, to do your duty as a Sith. To do your duty for the good of the galaxy. It's easy to be a clean-cut hero slaying monsters. There's always a little bit of vanity in it. There can be no room for vanity or pride in being despised." Lumiya

An action stressed by such notables as Lumiya, the sacrifice is not so much a training method as a test of the hopeful's dedication, and as such consists of forcing the hopeful to kill a loved one. The placement of the sacrifice often depends on both the discretion of the teacher and the needs of the hopeful, though it is common to place it at the start to ensure commitment, or at the close as a test.

It should also be noted that the hopeful doesn't actually have to kill or assail his subject himself, but merely facilitate the death to become a Tyro, though this is often seen as a weakness.

The Sith OCC

Sith Tyro is a rank within the Sith Order. The term is used to refer to Force-sensitive apprentices who have only just started on the dark path under the tutelage of a more experienced Sith Lord to rightfully bear the mantle of Sith. Unlike the Jedi Order, the rank of Sith Tyro does not change whether the Tyro has an appointed master or not. This is in line with the Sith hording power for themselves, with only the exceptional able to gain prominence. Despite the namesake, Sith Tyros are not considered to be Sith, per other Sith viewing them as lowly Dark Jedi. Thus, a Sith Tyro must complete their training fully to attain the next rank and become a "true" Sith. This period before becoming a true Sith is marked by much hazing and often death and of course the Trials.

They may have a set of dress clothes for special functions, or flight suits.

There are also a number of safe houses around the galaxy.

These craft are returned to the order upon completion of the mission typically. Note: Full Sith, typically have a craft they use regularly and is considered "theirs". Usually a fighter. Some Sith may even have their or personal vehicles and/or starships however Tyros use what is provided.

The Sith Trials

The Trials of the Sith are an opposing reflection of the "Trails of the Jedi", and are for members of the Sith Order to undertake as they approach full Sith status. A Sith passes the trials takes the title "Darth". When the Tyro is nearly completed training (level 3), the Master assigns these trials which they must complete alone:

  1. Trial of Skill
  2. Trial of Blood
  3. Trial of the Flesh
  4. Trial of Insight
  5. Trial of Spirit
  6. Trial of Ascension
Sith trials are assigned as missons instead of the traditional tests taken by Jedi and like the trial of Sacrifice taken to become a Tyro, these tests are required to be taken in order to proceed to the next rank in the Sith Order.

The Sith trials have been an integral tradition within the Sith Order since its conception on Korriban. Both before the formation of the Dark Council and the mainstreaming of the Sith academy's teachings, the Trials were highly informal, administered by either Tyro's Master and later the Sith Order and are brutally harsh and sometimes fatal.

Overseen by the Dark Council and the current Dark Lord, the Trials are over once all tests are completed. If the Tyro is successful in completing the series of challenges, the Master will then prepare their apprentice for the Asension ceremony. As the scheduled ceremony approaches, the Tyro will spend an entire day in deep meditation within a dark cell. As the time comes to ascend, the Padawan will be dragged into a darkened chamber and commanded to kneel before the Dark Master of the Order and there by given a name and the title of Darth. Should the Tyro be unsuccessful in completing the trials and yet still survive, they are permitted to take them again once and succed or be slain.

Exceptions are never made in the passing of the trials, as the Sith have a survival of the fittest mentality.

When a Sith has attained 4th level and the Trials are completed and passed the Tyro becomes a full Sith Crusader and is required to select one of the Paths. Unlike the Jedi Order, the rank of Sith Acolyte does not change whether the Acolyte has an appointed master or not. This is in line with the Sith hording power for themselves, with only the exceptional able to gain prominence. Despite the namesake, Sith Acolytes are not considered to be Sith, per other Sith viewing them as lowly Dark Jedi. Thus, a Sith Acolyte must complete their training fully to attain the next rank and become a "true" Sith. This period before becoming a true Sith is marked by much hazing and often death.
The Paths of the Sith:
  1. Acolyte
  2. Eradicator
  3. Infiltrator
  4. Inquisitor
