OOC: Please assume that all jobs posted in the guild forum are posted on our bulletin board here in the hall.

Things were going very well for the Stone Guard, new members were joining and job offers had started to come in. The members had been waiting very patiently for Epic to start posting the job offers. He only had two available for them to choose from but they would have to do for now, besides, the guild did not have a whole lot of members, and many that were active were busy. The jobs were not a have to, the members were free to join the guild and pass up the first hundred job offers if they so choose. Waiting for the members to start arriving Epic gathered his papers and information and waited at the front podium.

After having met all of the members Epic was pretty sure who was going to take what jobs, but who knows, perhaps they will surprise him. He was really hoping that these two jobs went well, this would gain the trust Epic needed from the members, trusting the members was imperative for some of the jobs that were going to be posted. Epic gave a nod and a hello to the members that entered, wondering if any of them would look at the jobs he had posted on the board. This would also prove to Epic who had been paying attention when he was talking to them.

He waited for everyone to be seated before he began.

Quix
Quix was ready to get started and came to the first meeting of the renknown Stone Guard. Its reputation shall hold its name through all.

Quix entered the guild as he saw the Guild Master.

"Serale, Guiold Master Vampyler, how are you this brightning?" As he looked for a seat to resever for himself.

Vyoma
Vyoma was a fresh recruit to the Guild. He ceremoniously went through the bulletin board and found that two jobs were posted there. He went through the requirements and measured the pros and cons of taking them. He set his mind on one of them and then proceeded to the meeting. He did not want to miss the first meeting. It was his first meeting and from what he found out, it was the first meeting for the Guild for a long time.

As he walked to where the other members and Epic, the Guild Master were present, he felt the presence of great warriors and could feel the essence of their souls. He felt dwarfed among them.

Dwarfed. Vyoma smiled.

Vyoma went to a seat that was in a position that could be called not among the high ranks. Still he took a moment looking at it. Would it be rude to sit without someone asking for or he requesting for hit. Then he abandoned the idea. Requesting if he could seat himself may be considered only as a overhead and excessive verbiage. He sat on it, rather attentively, ready to listen to every word that the members would utter.

Grunt G'daraka
After looking at the current jobs available Grunt walked into the meeting. There were already a few people waiting. Epic was standing in the front being a symbol of strength and leadership. Vyoma was sitting like an elf. Very straight and sure of himself and attentively listening to whatever chatter was happening. Grunt walked toward Vyoma and climbed into a chair near Vyoma's. Grunt gave him a smile then turned waiting for the meeting to begin.

OOC: I am currently in the process of gaining some NPC members of the Stone Guard, this is common among guilds as there are not enough PCs to show what the true turnout would be for IC recruiting. Once this is complete then you will notice NPC sign-up for jobs; these DO count as spaces taken up for those jobs. Whoever is moderating or storytelling the jobs will be in charge of controlling those NPCs. I will also be moderating many of the jobs and threads that you all participate in; of course they will be jobs that Epic will not be a part of. I also want everyone to know that just because OOC I do appreciate your assistance in making the Stone Guard a reality again, the threads that I do moderate will be done fairly and will not be made easy. All threads will be moderated fairly and proper consequences will come of actions, even if they are negative towards your characters. Don’t let this stray you from taking any jobs though, one thing that I can assure you is that you will have fun, that is the idea right? :) If anyone has any OOC questions please post them in the guildhall boards under OOC Thread. Thanks!

IC:

”I am doing very well this evening Quix, thank you for asking,” Epic replied kindly.

Looking around at the members that had arrived, Epic saw that there was a decent amount of new members for only one recruiting session in Medonia. Roughly nine members were present at the meeting and the numbers were sure to grow; perhaps even to the once numerous amounts in the Stone Guard days of old. From what he could see none of the original members of the guild were present, not that any could have made it to the meeting besides Stephan. The few that were present would do for now, Epic would mold these men and women into hardened adventurers in no time. The Stone Guard would once again be the most powerful guild presence in the Empire and all would know their names.

Grabbing some papers from his desk in his office Epic returned to the front of the hall and looked into the eyes of the hopeful stone guards. He saw a lot of heart in many of the members and he had already begun to spot who would rise the fastest in the guild. Notable among those present were Quix, Vyoma and Grunt. Grunt and Vyoma looked as though they might make a good team and Epic decided he would pair them as much as he could, and Quix had the eyes of a born leader. There was something about him that assured Epic any jobs that he gave him would be in good hands. Indeed the guild was already looking promising, the real tests would come though after the members completed a few jobs, it would be then that the members who were going to gain Epic’s trust would shine.

Straightening himself out Epic addressed the guild members with a deep powerful voice, the large hall made good use as an amphitheater as well as a guildhall.

”First of all I would like to welcome everyone to the first official meeting of the new Stone Guard. Right now is the beginning of one of the greatest adventures of your lives. My years in the Stone Guard have brought me numerous adventures ranging from rescuing kidnapped children to battles with golems made from pure whiskey and talking squirrels. What awaits you all in the years to come I do not know, this I can assure you though it will take you through some of the most memorable times of your lives.”

Memories of battles past raced through Epic’s mind as he could almost feel his scares, both on the inside and outside burned. Many of his friends had died in front of his eyes, (that’s right, back in my day PCs were slain in battle all the time!) memories that Epic would live with for the rest of his life. Across Epic’s chest was a slash given to him from another member of the Stone Guard after Epic had tried to kill him, a traitorous bastard that turned his back on the wrong person. Epic’s left shoulder branded a scare from an orcs blade while leading the stone guard against a battle in Riparia against Castle Pheonix, the Stone Guard had slain well over a hundred orcs that day. These memories though he would keep from the members of the guild for now, he did not want to scare of anyone who was not battle worn just yet.

”Across the room there has been posted many jobs that are up for grabs, I have seen that many of you have already taken advantage of my words during your recruitment and have been checking regularly. Those of you who have not yet seen the jobs I suggest you check them out after the meeting, there are a few high crown jobs still hanging without a single sign up.”

Once he was sure that the information so far had sunken in Epic coughed to clear his throat and continued his speech.

”Each meeting will start with questions and concerns that guild members may have. Once I have answered all questions to the best of my ability we will move on to suggestions for the guild, and do not be afraid to speak up for all suggestions will be considered and a vote will be taken. This brings me to the next subject, my role within this guild. Needless to say I have enough crowns to take care of myself, on top of that running the guild and doing my job as constable will take up most of my time. Only on the most important of missions will you find me accompanying the guild. Whenever possible I will look to the members for a vote on matters concerning the guild, only when I feel it is necessary for me to make the decision will I intervene in votes.”

Running his fingers through his hair he tried to think of anything else he could cover before he let the members go off on their questions. He a more to say but did not want to flood too much information, that could scare off some of the more “simple” members. The guild was not complicated, it just had to follow a lot of conditions and rules to be successful, and that is why Epic was here, to make sure that all went smooth. Some of the members were becoming restless and Epic could see that questions were already swelling in the member’s heads.

”I suppose I will leave it at that for now. We shall move on to questions and concerns, if you wish to speak simply stand up, state your name and rank and proceed with your question.”

Epic stepped around to the side of the podium and leaned up against it to look more comfortable in hopes that the members will feel the same.

Quix
Quix listened intentlly to what Epic (the GuildMaster) had said to all of them. He was renokned leader from when the Stone Guard had been at its peak. (OOC: I to remember when PCs were allowed to be slain, to bad they cahnged the rules..it was rather interesting) Quix wanted to get into any type of job that he could possibly get his hands on. He was dexterious and tough with years of being underwater in his hometown. The seas condtioned his body for war and Quix was ready.

"Serale. My name is Quix, Thane of Riparia and merc. I wanted to inquire about the job that needed an Ambassador or messenger from Pirvan Kaldres and the job that you had posted Guildmaster. I am also free to answer any question for those who have any with regards to the situation that may arise in Riparia"

Vyoma
Vyoma too got up, though first he reconsidered it. He was among the rank of great entities it seemed. And his talk would be a feeble one. But he felt that the Guild would understand him. He would do his deed, small or great, what he was supposed to do; the fate would decide to reward or punish.

Vyoma had seen the job posting for the upcoming Medonian Festival. His abilities seemed to suffice the requirements. He had to present himself to the Guild.
"I think I would be able to do the job that was put up. It is the help needed for the Medonian festival. I think a tattoo-artist and a part-time clerk like me should be able to do the job."

Grunt G'daraka
Grunt stood up in his chair and looked around the room. "I guess it is time for me to introduce myself to the entire Stone Guard."
"Seral, I am Grunt G'daraka. I am also a new recruit. It seems that I am the only dwarf among you. So, I will have to work harder to keep you all alive." Grunt paused to allow laughter from the Guard. He then continued without anymore attempts at humor.
"I will enjoy working with you and even becoming friends with some of you, as unlikely that may sound." Grunt looked around the room, picking up elf traits in a large majority of the Guard. Grunt glanced over at Vyoma then turned back to Epic. "Guildmaster, I to would like the job at the Medonian festival. I also would like to inquire about the mystery job you have posted. What kind of job is it?

Epicurus D. Vampyler
Epic smiled, as he was happy to see that he had many of the members interested. There were some good question, and a few others that he would avoid. The idea of the “mystery mission” was that he did not want to say what it was publicly, thus not posting it up in the guildhall. There were other also that may be a part of the organization Epic was in pursuit of shutting down. The Cadre had to be shut down, and if word caught their ears then Epic could find himself in some serious trouble. He would pay the members well for the information he sought, though he really wished that they would understand the reason for not posting the job in full.

Some of the members were inquiring about the jobs, but as he had stated in the jobs themselves they would be approached when needed. (OOC: I will make a new thread for each job when it is time to do so)

”To answer what seems to be everyone’s first question. When you sign up for a job I will approach you with the details of that job when the time comes, you will then have the choice of either taking said job or removing your name from the list. Anyone who chooses to not take a mission after signing up should not feel bad nor worry about it, it’s not a big deal for I am sure we will find others. Mr. Quix, I have received no other information other than what I have heard from Pirvan Kaldres, I am simply to send a member to Frigid River where he will be given further instructions. From what I know it is simply delivering a message to the Empress, Sir Kaldres is a long time member of this guild and I trust him, so no worries there. ”

After addressing Quix Epic turned his attention to Vyoma and Grunt.

”I thank you for your sign up in the festival, we are in much need for all the help we can get. As soon as I have some times and dates for you I will let you know. As for the job that I posted without much other information, I will talk to those who have signed up for it after this meeting. Are there any other questions from anyone before I go on?”

OOC: Alright! Get your butts in that thread mercenaries! That means you three, Quix, Grunt and Vyoma. :)

Ganlon
As Ganlon walks into the building after having to ask for directions a total of THREE times. But when he enters he sees one dwarf, and many a elf. As he is trying to spot the guild leader he is thinking" man this is a small guild now... when my father join it was just born he told me. Well i'll find out if they are still as good as they used to be." He is fiddling with his pack still trying to locate the guild master when he spots an human with small elf features. " maybe he is the one i'm looking for". He walks up and asks the almost pure human "Are you the guild master of the Stone Guard?"

Vyoma
Vyoma got all the answers he needed. He now, somehow, did not feel insignificant. He now felt as though he was amoung a family more and less of a guild. He felt at home, though he had none before. He quietly sat down. He had nothing else to say.

Epicurus D. Vampyler
OOC: Short post. Just deal with it. :p

IC:

Well, it looked as though this meeting was just about over. The jobs were posted and the men had signed up, that was the idea. There may not have been much to talk about but at least he had given them a chance to speak their minds. He had hoped for more questions but he figured that in time he must also show them that he can be trusted as well. Waving his hand in an ‘I’m done’ motion Epic stepped down from the podium.

”That will be all for today, many of you start jobs tomorrow so I suggest that you get some rest.”

Epic made his way over to the sign up sheets to see who had signed up for his mission, good, it was the members he had been most interested in. Motioning for the three of them to come talk to Epic he was approached by someone, one who had entered the meeting late. He did not recognize it to be one of the guild members so he approached the individual.

”Serale, I am indeed the Guild Master. What can I do for you?”

Ganlon
"Thank goodness i finaly found te guild master to the Stone Guard... Yes i'm Ganlon and i'm looking to join if it isn't too much trouble." As he said he put his hand out for the Guild Master to take. "ummm i hope i can join." "I noticed that there wasn't many people here today. So i didn't know who was the guild master." He looked at the people leaveing as he finished saying that.
Epicurus D. Vampyler
Epic took Ganlon’s hand and gave it a firm return shake. It was always good to see a potential recruit, there was of course going to have to be a few questions before he just let him in. The one seemed quite sure of himself and could prove to be a good member. Motioning for Ganlon to follow him Epic made his way into the office and pulled out a paper, ink and a quill.

[b]”Fill out this sheet and we shall go from there, welcome to the Stone Guard. I have but a few questions for you. Tell me, why do you want to be a member of the Stone Guard?”

Epic sat down in his chair and leaned back a little waiting for an answer. This was his favorite question to ask, thus the first question. It was not a hard question and there were no right or wrong answers, it just gave Epic a better idea of who this person was and what they were about.

Quix
A note was recenlty pined up on the wall for all to read.

Epic,

I am in need of an Ambassador/Messenger. Though I could possibly find a local man to handle this job I thought it would be good to offer the job to The Stone Guard.

Pay: 100 Cr.
Needed: ASAP.

Quix

Ganlon
ooc: i did this one in shcool so it not going to be great :)

Epic

Ganlon looks at the sheet Epic put in front of him and filled it out:

When he filled it out he said "Well I'm here wishing to join helping you do things and explore the world and do some mapping for my family and friends back home to see where i've been"
Epicurus D. Vampyler
OOC: In a hurry as well so short post.

Epic looked over the application and smiled, good enough for him. He was not expecting to pull in any great warriors immediately, but he was sure going to make some out these men. Looking back up at Ganlon Epic spoke with a pleased tone in his voice.

”Well done, it looks to me like we have ourselves a new member of the guild. Please feel free to sign up for any jobs that you see posted up, as long as you think you can accomplish them of course. Well, I have a few members that I need to speak with so I will put a note up on when the next Stone Guard meeting is, please do attend.”

With that Epic stood and led Ganlon out of the office as he went to go speak with the other on the mission he had posted. As he made his way to the other he looked back at Ganlon and spoke again.

”Oh, and training will begin soon. I suggest that you look into it.”

Rufus Dimane
Rufus had arrived late. He had not been paying much attention and had forgotten about the meeting. He came in as Epicurus was looking over a doccument. A dracon stood near him.

Rufus approached Epicurus and waited for him to finish with the dracon.

"Sorry, I'm a bit tardy this brightening. Have I missed anything?" Rufus looked back seeing the other members of the guild already gathered. All lightborns, it would seem that the Thëlyri Quix would not be the only one he would be having conflicts with.

He had on his long black coat wich might make him seem a little more evil than normal. He wasn't exactly looking foreward to what might ensue after the meeting...

Epicurus D. Vampyler
Epic looked over at Rufus and gave him a nod of greeting before he spoke, and yes, Rufus had missed quite a lot. In fact Rufus had missed the whole meeting, the meetings were optional of course but it was nice when the members were able to attend. This showed Epic who was really interested in the Guild and who just wanted to be a part of something. Excusing himself from the current conversation Epic gave rufus his full attention.

”You indeed have missed the entire meeting, fret not though for you did not miss anything of great importance. These meetings are not required and I ask you to attend simply for your own benefit, it will probably not be until we have completed a few jobs when we have our next meeting. Our next meeting will be posted on the front of the Guild Hall and I do hope you will be able to attend that one, it will be actually very important as those who have shown their loyalty to the guild will be promoted.”

With that Epic excused himself for he had many things that needed to be done before it got too late. Running a guild and being the constable was not easy, especially with the current state the city was in.

Rufus Dimane
'Well that blows. thought Rufus. 'not only did I miss the meating but the constable of medonia, who I'm supposed to be gaining favor with to aid the daggers thinks I'm a complete slacker. Not to mention the fact that my peers are being promoted, leaving me in the dust.' An expression of disapointment washed over his face as he left.

Certainly this was not a good day. Rufus would have to try harder if he was to obtain the status that he wished to obtain. Not that aiding the daggers was him prime objective. He was interested in the mercinary guild, truly. He would not have joined if he wasn't.

Rufus left and went back home. THe uneventfull day left him with nothing more to do. He didn't work that darkening so the remainder of the day was spent training around the city strees.
