Over a hundred years passed since the time of the Backdraft/ZBC battles. A few times here and there over the centuries the Backdraft Group resurfaced to start a new war with the ZBC, but they were always defeated in the end. With their long standing leader dead, the Backdraft Group was once and for all defeated.
Planet Zi entered an age of peace at this time. Battles only occurred through regulation and for pure enjoyment. With the sudden surge of new pilots, the ZBC became more popular then ever. Everyone seemed to want to pilot Zoids now that they were no longer used as war machines. The memories of the many wars and deaths vanished, as people finally felt as though things were going to be all right from now on. This, unfortunately, was not the case.
The Backdraft group had started something just before their defeat. The creation of a new breed of Zoids. They were stronger and faster then any other on the planet, and needed no weapons other then their own physical power. Their pilots seemed to have skills beyond that of anyone else on Zi. But after the last war, they simply disappeared. This was only their way of making sure they could build their own forces to fight with. These zoids....these abominations, were simply known as Hybrids. And for now, they waited for the opportunity to strike.
