Dear Mr. Beck:
I don't have many friends with similar filmic interests to mine, but I've followed your cartoon-history work for years. So when I decided to rave about the new Popeye DVD box set, I thought I'd go straight to the source.
I bought this set only four days ago, and I am so overwhelmed with joy over the cartoons and the "extras" that I haven't gotten even halfway through the set yet. God bless you and anyone else who had anything to do with furthering the release of this glorious DVD set. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning.
For years I, like perhaps you and certainly generations of other animation buffs, thought that great Hollywood animation had been banished to the Saturday-morning ghetto. Thank you so much for your part in reviving interest in what was always terrific stuff to start with.
Keep up the great work -- I wish I had a job like yours!
Sincerely,
Steve Bailey (local movie reviewer)

Steve,
Your letter certainly made my day. Thank you! Makes everything we go through to do this, worthwhile.
I'm glad you liked POPEYE. I highly recommend the WOODY WOODPECKER set (I programmed it, sans credit) and we are working on POPEYE Vol. 2 (which will be out in 2008).
Thanks!
