My '74 Rupp Centaur In The Making Page 2

Side view.

Here you can see the entire length of the body and see how it just lays over the frame. Between the front end and the length of the body, the entire trike is the length of my '95 Nissan reg. cab pickup. The two holes in the 11 o'clock position to the left of the fender is where grab handles for the passenger went. The little square to the left of those is where the passenger foot rests go.

Inside shot.

Here you can see two open holes. The large one in the bucket is the only place you can see the frame. This is all covered by the console. The console is two pieces. The first piece houses the idiot lights, the tachometer, speedometer and ignition. The second piece covered the emergency brake assembly, cables and the gear shifter assembly and shifter tube. The second hole is up in the passenger seat. I am not sure why it was there, but it could give you limited access to the original engine. This hole will be fiberglassed over since there will be no need for it.

What I plan on doing here is to extend the body because of the frame extention. It will be cut straight across the front where the least amount of fiberglass work will need to be done. After this part is complete I will be widening the body. This will be done by measureing the front and the rear of the body and splitting it right down the center. The reason for this is a few things. 1st I plan on using a 10" rim that will carry a 295x50xR15 tire. By widening the body the fenders will cover the wheels. The 2nd reason is it will allow me more foot room on either side of the gas and clutch pedal. 3rd, it will also allow me to put the gear shifter to the right side of me instead of the center. And 4rth, it will allow my passenger to put their feet inside the body instead of outside the body.

the two pieces will be joined back together using a thin piece of moldable sheet metal screen. The screen will be laid out on the underside of the body and all the fibergalss work done on the topside. When this is complete the body will be turned upside down and about 2 or 3 layers of fiberglass mesh will be added to the whole body to thicken it up for more stability. After this, the fenders will get a layer of sheet metal screen with 1 or 2 layers on top of that for more stability. Then finally the sides of the body will be extended towards the ground about 4" for a lower look. With all of this, a new Trunk will have to be made as well as a widening of the front fairing.
