It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping to instill values in young people and, in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical choices during their lifetime in achieving their full potential. The values we strive to instill are based on those found in the Scout Oath and Law.
Troop 13Troop 13 BSA has a long history of serving boys. For over 50 years, the troop has been in East Knoxville and currently is chartered to St. Luke's UMC where it has been since March 1959. Learning skills for living and leadership, Troop 13 incorporates the main theme that "SCOUTING is a GAME with a PURPOSE." FUN is the GAME. VALUES are the PURPOSE. LEARNING is the PROCESS.
Activi tiesBoy Scouting is designed to take place outdoors. It is in the outdoors that scouts share responsibilities and learn to live with each other. It is here that the skills and activities practiced at troop meetings come alive with a purpose.
Troop 13 is committed to involvement in the activities of the Wohali District and Great Smoky Mountain Council where boys may meet and learn with others in the community.
Other events, camps, and activities are scheduled throughout the year.
