The soft breeze filtered through the
leaves as I sat upon the ground,
And the quiet rustling that it made was
quite a peaceful sound.
I leaned against the old tree trunk,
and much to my surprise,
A butterfly sat on my arm --
such beauty in my eyes!
I didn't move-- sat very still --
and marveled in my glee,
That with all the flowers in the yard,
this gem had chosen me!
The intricate pattern of orange and black;
the undiscernable touch;
It's beauty was beyond compare, and I
treasure this moment so much.
Finally, the time had come,
And the butterfly took its leave,
But the joy this encounter brought to me
I still cannot believe!

When you love some one so deeply
They become your life
It's easy to succumb to overwhelming
Fears inside
Blindly I imagined I could
Keep you under glass
Now I understand to hold you
I must open up my hands
And watch you rise
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly
Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly
Butterfly
I have learned that beauty
Has to flourish in the light
Wild horses run unbridled
Or their spirit dies
You have given me the courage
To be all that I can
And truly feel your heart will
Lead you back to me when youre
Ready to hold
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly
Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly
Butterfly
I cant pretend these tears
Arent overflowing steadily
I cant prevent this hurt from
Almost overtaking me
But i will stand and say goodbye
For you'll never be mine
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly
Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly
Butterfly
Until you learn to fly

Butterfly Wings
Perched upon my window sill, I watched it through my tears,
Landing there so careless, worry free, with no tension, nor any fears.
Watching with such envy, jealousy it must have been,
I wanted it to fly away, but nevertheless come back again.
It was everything I wanted to be, beautiful, calm, and savored,
With its wings of beauty so wide and feather light, it flew only were it
favored,
I wished so hard that I could fly away into the breeze,
There could I only be truly free, as do only as my wings please.
But, instead I gazing out my window, at somthing so at peace,
That by only being itslef, put me at such a surprising ease,
Realizing so my happiness is so often placed on mere "things",
Only I know my dreams and hopes are now safe on a butterflies wings.
