Leaird Named Teacher of The Year for 2000

Pageland Middle School's Teacher of the Year is Coach Mitch Leaird. He has been teaching eighth grademath at the school for three years at the school and has a total of eight years of classroom experience. Leairdis also the head baseball coach at Central High School in Pageland. "I have found that in treating students withrespect, it makes them want to show you the same respect in return," Leaird said. "I have many students thattalk to me about sports teams and things that happen in their lives. My students and I joke and have fun, butthey know that we have work to do and it must be completed. Treating these individuals in a respectful mannermakes my job much easier." The Eagle One News Team congratulates Coach Leaird on this honor.
