True Worship

We ought to be encouraged as we contemplate the holy privilege of worship. Worship is one of the highest honours granted to the Lord’s people. In worship, we can communicate with our great God, the Almighty sovereign ruler of the universe. The impact of God’s spirit upon our personality enables us to communicate with the Lord in heartfelt, soul lifting and spirit enthralling worship. God seeks true worshippers.

Looking at Psalms 24:3,4 and Psalms 15 1-3, they show us that a true worshipper is an emulator of the life of his King and Master. Jesus was the first to come down and the first one to ascend into heaven. As we endeavour to live our lives the way he did our worship will ascend into the presence of God. By His Spirit the Lord gathers with His people and the sweetest place a man can dwell in is in His presence. For when we are in the presence of God our hearts are freed to worship Him even more. As we worship our spirit becomes enriched, our hearts encouraged, our soul is blessed and our bodies are motivated to for the Lord’s service.

Scriptural worship is always based on the truth of God’s word, and it benefits the inner man. John 4:23. True worshippers must worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. As we walk in the truth of God’s word and order our lives in His word we are full of the Spirit and even our faintest whisper to the Lord is worship. Worship is a lifestyle not a duty. God created man to be a worshipper. True worship is birthed out of our love for the Lord, if we love much we will worship.

Acceptable worship of God is not based upon external things. True worship starts in the heart. Our father that made the heavens and the earth has taken up residence by His spirit in our heart what an honour. The bible reveals this truth in the book of Acts 27: 24) God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25) Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things. The scripture make it clear that God is above all, yet it is His desire that we worship Him in spirit and in truth. The bible reveals that "…Father seeketh such to worship Him. John 4:23. The whole substance of the word of God teaches us that our Father, who does not need anything, desires the adoration and worship of His children. The importance of worship and the power of worship is a mystery that is unfold in these last days as God’s people seek and hunger after God.

The key to God’s power is worship; the bible reveals that God inhabitants the praises of His people. God is present in worship where the Spirit of the Lord there is fulness of joy and pleasures ever more. Beloved God desires to shower us with the blessings of worship, more than we desire to worship, because he is a good God. All the Lord requires of us is our praise and worship from sincere hearts. It is easy to pay lip service to worship but God requires heartfelt and true worship from His children. It is good for us as His children, to worship with a humble and reverent heart. God is God with or without us. Therefore let us reverence Him, He is good and His mercy endures forever.

O worship, the Lord all ye His saints for He is good and great are the wonders he performs. Blessed be our God the rock, the King, the I AM that I AM.

Our Master and our Saviour. The Lord most High.
