Review For 5
Lenny Kravitz' 5th effort (titled 5) since his debut in 1989 has proabably been his best effort yet today. This has been Kravitz' first album since the disapointing 95 release of Circus. In 5, Lenny does much of the work on the album himself, playing most of the instruments and writing all of the songs. Ballads like "Thinking Of You" and "It's Your Life" are definetly the best on this album. However, this album does have its flaws. For example, in "Your My Flavour" he repeats your my flavour for 90 seconds during the outro. However, like traditional Lenny music, the style comes mostly from other inspirations. From Sly Stone (Live, Supersoulfighter) to Prince (Black Velveteen) to Earth Wind And Fire (Straight Cold Player) I can overlook those things though. I definately recommend this album!!!
