SPARKS FOR LIVING
ORIGINAL PURPOSE:
The year was 1971. Two Sunday school classes at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, S.C.,
were Maurice Eshleman's "Couples for Christ" and Thelma Eshleman's "L.L.L". (Live, Love and
Lift). Realizing that most people face problems and heartaches along the pathway of living for
God, These good people had the desire to do something in a regular and beneficial way to help.
There were many thought stimulations and uplifting ideas that they wanted to pass along to
others. A periodical, "Sparks For Living," was born.
METHOD:
Thelma, a long-time builder of interesting scrap books and Maurice's depth of study was the
inspiration. Many showed interest in these scrap books; which contained pictures, cards, Bible &
inspirational messages. They are evidence of enthusiastic living. By collecting issues of "Sparks
For Living," anyone could have tools to help others.
PLAN:
Now my goal is to reactivate "Sparks For Living." I do not profess any special skill. I ask for your
prayers and dynamic interaction. May God use "Sparks For Living" to His Glory.
I want your ideas, material, feedback and suggestions.
