Pharmaceutical Care in Germany: After the first discussion about Pharmaceutical Care it became a topic in Germany as well. But it was a problem that according to the German education law the most universities did not have the subject "Social Pharmacy". So the students did not hear about it at university. So our German pharmacists organisation ABDA started some first projects. But we do not have final results yet. The situation in the federal states is different: some pharmacists organisations in the federal states are very active - others wait for "initiatives of community pharmacists". The German Pharmaceutical Society (DPhG) has an interest group "Community pharmcy" - which deals with aspects of Pharmaceutical Care. After a long break our Department of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics started in December 1996 with the resarch topic: ECONOMIC OUTCOME OF PHARMACEUTICAL CARE.
