I read the book Junky by William S. Burroughs and he makes a statement in his book: Junk is not like alcohol or weed- a means to increase enjoyment of life. Junk is not a kick. It is a way of life. Which is an accurage statement to a certain degree. No one knows what junk is until he is junk sick. Heroin is to a junky what insulin is to a diabetic. My struggle with heroin has landed me in jail, and that's where I write this now- my cell. For those of you who have never tried heroin, don't. And believe me I know hos stupid that sounds- just say no and all that. But I have learned a great lesson. Heroin Kills. I'm very lucky to be alive and feel fortunate to be in jail. I overdosed and got charged with possession and got sent here to jail immediately upon being revived. Stayed 3 weeks in jail and got out on bond only to be picked up again for the same thing again- possession. You see, junk will take over your thoughts, your will, your only will is cop dope. The romanticism linked with heroin addiction is a lie, the pain of withdrawal is tremendous. Suicide becomes an easy option. So I can easily say just say no. Kurt Cobain knew, so did Darby and Johnny Thunders. Yep, even Sid knew, but they're not here to tell you. Heroin is not fun. I'm facing 5 years on a possession charge. You get rehab when you're a rock star, but if you don't die from overdose or disease you're very likely to end up in jail for your habit. Just ask Shane Williams.
