| Derek began his
walk with The Goddess on Wednesday, August 26, 1998 at 11:50 p.m. PDT at Lucile
Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. Our comfort, as we try to continue
with our lives, is the knowledge that the heavens are rejoicing with the
arrival of our young friend. The skies will be forever brighter with his light.

A Prayer |
||
| The California Sage is lit and all the
area has been smudged to clear the paths of negative thoughts and emotions. The
sweet grass is sending forth the wisps of curling smoke for inspirations as it
fills the air with fragrance. |
||
| Spirit Keepers of the Four directions, I
humbly ask for your attendance at our prayer circle. We are in dire need of
your assistance and witnessing of the prayers that are being sent to the Great
Spirit. We ask for your help in spreading the word to all corners of the
Universe that our young friend Derek has joined your company. I ask all the
spirits in all domains that are based upon a positive flow to also come and
attend out circle. |
||
| Great Spirit, Creator of all life, we
come before you today to ask that you help us to understand what has to be done
to heal our hearts and soul over our physical loss of Derek. We ask that you
keep us in the center of the White Light of healing. We ask that you bless this
light with your healing. We know how insignificant each of us are in the make
up of the universe but we also know that each of us are special in your eyes.
We know that because Derek is one of those special people he has been called
into your presence. He obtained a special spot in his brothers and sisters
hearts that compares to your love for each of us. We all are feeling our
remaining brothers' pain and suffering in our own ways, but rejoice in the
knowledge that Derek's suffering is at an end. |

| Mother Earth, I turn to you for your
strength of renewal as you have the powers of growth. We are in great need of
healing in these aspects. I envision us in the powers of the green healing
light that you can provide. We ask that you send your healing powers to us in
our time of grief. I ask that by all your powers a sign of positive things to
come will be shown to Derek's family and friends. |

| Spirit Keepers of the Four Sacred
Directions I ask that you go forth in your domains and spread the word that a
miracle has occurred. Our brother Derek has become one with the gods. We who
remain need the healing powers of all those that are able to congregate at this
circle, and to work their magic, to weave there positive threads of healing
into those who remain on this plain. |

| I ask the spirits of the trees, the
fish, the animal, the reptile, the insects, the flowers, birds, and all things
that are touched by our Great Creator to join with us in our quest of a healing
over the loss of our little brother. |
||
| Last but far from least I direct my
attention and thoughts straight to you Derek. We all wanted you here with us. I
ask that if you are watching over us, know that you will be loved forever. Our
blessings go with you as you begin the next part of your journey. May your path
be bright. You will forever be in our hearts. Know that the time you were
allowed to be with us changed us all for the better. Bless us now and with our
prayers may you begin you new life. |

their domains. |
