So this part of my website is dedicated to my one and only Brown Sugar!
We've been together now for over two years and it has
been the most happiest time of my life.
I fell for him the first time I saw him -- sitting across from me in a little
coffee shop in Edmonton called Cappucino Affair -- but I thought he wasn't
interested in me 'cause he never look at me once (even though now he says
that he staring at me the whole time). At the time, I was in a very bad
relationship with someone else whom was treating me very badly, so I was
aching for some good lovin' *s*. Soon, Rommel and I were together and we
would prove to be unseperable.
He has treated me like no other guy has ever treated me before -- he shows
me respect, love, and caring 24/7. He's fun and easy-going
(sometimes a little too easy-going...but that's something I have to get
used to). Compared to most guys his age he has his head on straight. He
doesn't smoke, drink or do drugs. He treats ladies (who deserve it) with
respect and he is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.
I know he looks like a player -- but he's not! He's a one-woman-man -- which
is very rare to find nowadays.
Through the good times (and sometimes the bad times too) we have always
stuck together because we believe that we were meant to be together
forever *s*.
I used to think that there wasn't a God because of all the un-cured disease
and violence on Earth. But we really never truly believe in the Almighty
until He touches us personally. I know God exists 'cause He sent me an
angel *s*.
So to all those girls who think they have a chance of snaggin' my Brown
Sugar away from me, Mickey has a little somethin' for you:
Wu Sang Fu's 101 Ways To Be Romantic
Here are some poems for all you lovebirds out there. These are my faves...and I'm sure they'll be yours, too:
In all passionate relationships, there are promises of riches beyond the average man's reach. This next poem is what a (poor) shepherd promises a lady just to get her heart (or something else *l*)-- but it is still very sweet.
THE PASSIONATE SHEPHERD TO HIS LOVE
COME live with me and be my Love,
And we will all the pleasures prove
That hills and valleys, dale and field,
And all the craggy mountains yield.
There will we sit upon the rocks
And see the shepherds feed their flocks,
By shallow rivers, to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.
There will I make thee beds of roses
And a thousand fragrant posies,
A cap of flowers, and a kirtle
Embroider’d all with leaves of myrtle.
A gown made of the finest wool,
Which from our pretty lambs we pull,
Fair lined slippers for the cold,
With buckles of the purest gold.
A belt of straw and ivy buds
With coral clasps and amber studs:
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me and by my Love.
Thy silver dishes for thy meat
As precious as the gods do eat,
Shall on an ivory table be
Prepared each day for thee and me.
The shepherd swains shall dance and sing
For thy delight each May-morning:
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me and be my Love.
-Christopher Marlowe
And, even in love, there are some pessimists (like I *l*)...so here is a reply to the previous poem.
THE NYMPH'S REPLY TO THE SHEPHERD
IF all the world and love were young,
And truth in every shepherd’s tongue,
These pretty pleasures might me move
To live with thee and be thy Love.
But Time drives flocks from field to fold;
When rivers rage and rocks grow cold;
And Philomel becometh dumb;
The rest complains of cares to come.
The flowers do fade, and wanton fields
To wayward Winter reckoning yields:
A honey tongue, a heart of gall,
Is fancy’s spring, but sorrow’s fall.
Thy gowns, thy shoes, thy beds of roses,
Thy cap, thy kirtle, and thy posies,
Soon break, soon wither- soon forgotten,
In folly ripe, in reason rotten.
Thy belt of straw and ivy-buds,
Thy coral clasps and amber studs,
All these in me no means can move
To come to thee and be thy Love.
But could youth last, and love still breed,
Had joys no date, nor age no need,
Then these delights my mind might move
To live with thee and be thy Love.
-Sir Walter Raleigh
In other words, the lady thought that the shepherd was just feeding her a line of crap just to get her in the sack *l*.
This next poem talks about the mystery of romance...and it's written by one of my favourite authors.
ROMANCE
Romance, who loves to nod and sing,
With drowsy head and folded wing,
Among the green leaves as they shake
Far down within some shadowy lake,
To me a painted paroquet
Hath been- a most familiar bird
Taught me my alphabet to say
To lisp my very earliest word
While in the wild wood I did lie,
A child- with a most knowing eye.
Of late, eternal Condor years
So shake the very Heaven on high
With tumult as they thunder by,
I have no time for idle cares
Through gazing on the unquiet sky.
And when an hour with calmer wings
Its down upon my spirit flings-
That little time with lyre and rhyme
To while away- forbidden things!
My heart would feel to be a crime
Unless it trembled with the strings.
- Edgar Allan Poe
Here's a story that will make you understand what love is:
A Love Story:
Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived:
Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others including Love.
One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink,
so all repaired their boats and left. Love was the only one who
stayed.
Love wanted to persevere until the last possible moment. When the
island
was almost sinking, Love decided to ask for help.
Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness,
can you take me with you?" Richness answered, "No, I can't.. There is
a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."
Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful
vessel, "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you Love. You are
all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.
Sadness was close by so Love asked for help, "Sadness, let me
go with you." "Oh...Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"
Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy that she did not
even hear when Love called her!
Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come Love, I will take you." It
was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that he even
forgot to ask the elder her name.
When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Love
realizing how much he owed the elder asked Knowledge, another elder,
"Who helped me?" "It was Time," Knowledge answered.
"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time
is capable of understanding how great Love is."

I'll update this page every month or so by putting up new poems or pictures,
or just little things about my love.
If you have any poems that you'd like posted here, just drop me a line!
Last -- but certainly NOT least -- I'd like to thank the people who have given Rommel and me their blessings...it is also because of people like you that our love is so strong *s*.
