Eddie plays Jimmy Doherty on "Third Watch". Eddie joins the cast of "Third Watch" from NBC’s daytime drama "Sunset Beach," on which he’ll continue to star.
"Jimmy Doherty is a dedicated and confident firefighter who will do whatever it takes to get the job done,"
says Cibrian of his "Third Watch" character. "He takes pride in his work, but also knows how to turn on
the charm and have a little fun."

Eddie has landed the leading role in a new primetime series produced by the creator of ER, it will be called
"Third Watch". This will air on NBC on Wednesday evenings this fall. It is about the lives of firefighters, paramedics
and police officers in a large urban area. Eddie will do both Sunset Beach and
Third Watch, until his contract expires at SUN next year. Until then, Eddie is going to be a busy guy.

Source - Soap Opera Update
With NBC's recent announcement of its new fall schedule came dismal news for
fans of Eddie Cibrian's Cole on sunset Beach. Cibrian has landed a leading
role on the series THIRD WATCH. The series is an ER-like drama built around
the work of urban police, firefighters, and paramedics, and is set for
Wednesdays this fall.
A SUN spokesperson says that Cibrian is expected to pull double-duty
and work both SUN and THIRD WATCH, at least through the remainder of his SUN
contract, which his scheduled to expire next year. A source close to Cibrian,
however, paints a different picture. The pilot of THIRD WATCH was filmed in
New York, and if the series films there as well, it will be difficult, if not
impossible, for the actor to continue to tape SUN in L.A. "There is no way
he'll do both," says the source.

Source - Soap Opera Weekly (May 4)
Eddie Cibrian (Cole) will be in New York in August taping a pilot
for John Well's (ER, Trinity) new prime-time series, Sunset exective
producer Gary Tomlin says Cibrian won't be missed on-air; the soap will
pretape his scenes. If NBC picks up the pilot, it will be a 13-week
commitment. Tomlin says, "My understanding is that he will continue to
do both shows".

they will do the same in the States.
