Ghosts

Don't cry at the howls of the ghosts
they are lost creations of a despairing god
please do not let them claw from you reason
or worse still take from the heart the fire
they feel envy at that heat you hold
do not let the sad creatures of loss
make home in your heart and banish the soul
do not cry at their howls, for they weep
in the darkness as you in peace sleep
