the monster

in the nonsense of distinguished loss
lies a chimera of ecstasy hibernating
sleeping in the ethereal caves
of life and time and history
the monster wakes screaming to the moon
disorientated, confused but convinced
of a direction a mission from within
to a collapsed temple to give new praise
