The Queen

I once knew a queen
we talked about all kinds of things
not just crowns and rings
you ought to have seen
the way she held her head and smiled
at once so refined and so wild
it would have been
so good to live in her palace I think
where but for wine there was no drink
she was not so keen
but I did once know a queen
