What is missed

I miss Milton and Shakespeare though i knew them not
i miss them for the light they have left unlit
i miss in regret the time which has passed
since john and bill trod the paths of the past
i do not miss those who have not left behind words to be remembered by
it may be unfair since all men are equal
but since paradise is lost, i wait for the sequel.
