Yes, it's sad but true--I'm a Junkfood Junkie. I enjoy all the foods that have "empty" calories. Did you ever wonder how empty calories can make people gain weight? I know that the word empty refers to the nutritional value of the food. The trouble is that so many of the really satisfying, scrumptious foods have very little nutritional value. After many years (we won't say how many)of yo-yo dieting, I have come to the conclusion that the answer to acheiving permanent weight loss and a healthier body is "all things in moderation". I believe that substituting fruits and vegetables for the junk food will provide good results, but I also believe that if you are having a real craving for something--say, maybe CHOCOLATE--you should go ahead and have some and then go back to your healthy habits. It's better to just go ahead and satisfy that craving than to eat everything else in the house trying to avoid it! Does that sound familiar? Hmmm... There are many of us yo-yo dieters--maybe you're one of them. If so, then you might be able to relate to this poem I have written. Several years ago, as a member of a weight loss club, I was asked to write a poem about my arms, waist, bust, hips, and thighs. Here it is. They get me into trouble By helping me to reach the food That makes my waistline double!
My bust is almost back to normal,
My hips are really something else.
Next there are my saddlebags As you can tell, my shape's not well,
They are very extensive and offer a lot of hope, inspiration, facts, recipes, and tips. Enjoy!
