This is a page about Cancer Awareness melanoma in particular, which is alarmingly on the rise. Melanoma is a skin cancer which is life threatening.
I am honored to have met a very special warrior against Cancer. Her name is Pat Green Cunningham from St. Petersburg, Florida. The first time I met Pat was through a bulletin board on a website called
Melanoma Patient's Information Page
This website is a gold mine of information about melanoma. It was created by Jeff and Lori Patterson in memory of Lori's sister, Cindy Blanc, who died of melanoma. It contains information about staging, treatment, clinical trials and much more. There is a bulletin board for interaction with other patients and caregivers. The people there are loving, caring, knowledgable, and helpful.
Unfortunately, Pat's melanoma had spread internally making her stage 4, which is not good news at all. But she didn't cry in her beer about it. (her words)
I soon learned that Pat had created a web page to educate and warn people about the dangers of skin cancer. I visited her site and was so impressed with it. Her desire to help others showed what kind of person she was. Over the next few months, she became my friend, as she did with so many others on the internet.
I had planned to put information about melanoma on this page, but I realized I could never say it as well as Pat did on her website, (you will find her to be very blunt talking with a wonderful sense of humor).
And the Melanoma Patients Information Page is an unsurpassed site for any specific questions you may have.
Please visit Pat's websites and heed her warnings about skin cancer!
Take a Minute and Pat's Home Page
My friend Pat lost her battle with melanoma on January 03, 2000. Please visit her site and learn that skin cancer does kill people. She left the legacy of her Web Pages to warn and help others. I dedicated this card to Pat while she was living, and now I lovingly dedicate this webpage in memory of her.

Thank you Carol for providing these beautiful graphics! Unfortunately, I had to remove the link to Carol's graphic site. She took her site off the web, because people were stealing her hard work and taking the credit themselves. How Sad!
