Kurt Cobain was probably the most famous member of NIRVANA, not only because he is the one who committed suicide, but mainly because of his amazing abilities as a songwriter, a guitarist, and a vocalist. His music was not the most complicated, but it was played with passion. As Cobain stated once in an interview, "A few chords played with honest emotion can speak volumes." Kurt helped to bring in the grunge movement and kick out the big, corporate rock bands of the 80's that had held the spotlight for so long. People remembered his lyrics well and could relate to them. Unfortunately, Cobain's life and NIRVANA's career was cut short when he was found dead on April 5, 1994 of a self-inflicted shotgun wound to head.

Krist Novoselic:

Krist Novoselic was NIRVANA's talented bassist. He was friends with Kurt since high school, and they played in many bands together before starting NIRVANA. Krist is part Croatian, and he can speak the language fluently. Krist was a big joker, and he was always making fun of everything. Most people don't realize that Krist stands about 6'7". He helped NIRVANA become the famous band that they were with his talent on the bass guitar.

David Grohl:

Dave Grohl was NIRVANA's drummer who came to the band right before their success took off with the release of "Nevermind." Kurt and Krist could never find a drummer that suited their musical needs until Dave came along. He played for the Washington, D.C. hardcore band SCREAM before he was asked to join NIRVANA. If you watch any NIRVANA video, you can see how good of a drummer he is; he plays very violently. Kurt and Krist had finally found their drummer in Dave.
