joxersfan: Happy Holidays to both of you

hbkidywo: Merry Christmas Captin

Mayfair51: You, too, Stephen!

lasermn: we were trying to guess who the mystery guest would be. August & I both guessed Stephen

Shirley_LeVasseur: Brogard!

japjoea: Who's next, I wonder?

joxerfan: (they're talking to each other.....)

hbkidywo: The Goovinar and his loyal Capitan

bummer2323: LOL

Jordi32196: Tell Stephen I adored the character of Brogard! So much fun to write in fan fiction!

Mayfair51: I love Brogard!!!

joxersfan: I guessed that Neigel would show up

japjoea: Maybe... Jack and Em themselves??

bummer2323: Brogard is the perfect spoil to jack

joxerfan: Stephen does a one man stage show that was nominated for an award

joxersfan: EVeryone LOVES Brogard and Croque!!!

bummer2323: how cool!

joxerfan: (I bet Nigel will be here!)

sirenia2525: how'd it go?

jackaltrades: I thought some of his expressions were hilarious (eg. the scene from Floundering Fathers where Blackbeard licks him.)

sirenia2525: the ceremony that Stephen went to?

hbkidywo: I thought Brogard was at his best in Pookey episode LOL in the body cast

japjoea: I think both characters were great, the show would not have been what it was with out them.

chat_guest2001: on the awards ceremony

chat_guest2001: it was a huge night

chat_guest2001: it was held in a large ballroom w/ free champagne

Mayfair51: They had the perfect chemistry

sirenia2525: always good;)

chat_guest2001: which pleased the actors immensely

Mayfair51: LOL!

chat_guest2001: unfortunately he lost out on the award - bugger!

bummer2323: tell him to come and visit us at the message board, we'd love to have him!!

chat_guest2001: Stephen had to leave early because he had a 5:00 AM call

japjoea: KEWL!

chat_guest2001: for the shoot he's on

japjoea: OMG

bummer2323: what's he doing now?

joxersfan: We'd love to have any of the Cast and Crew!

sirenia2525: darn! well, it was nice being nominated

chat_guest2001: and I'm sure the 5:00 AM call would not have pleased him at all

chat_guest2001: Stephen says what hair he has, he couldn't let down!

sirenia2525: wouldn't please any sane person

bummer2323: it wouldn't have pleased me, either

japjoea: nOT ME!!

bummer2323: LOL

chat_guest2001: Stephen and I shared a camper (mobile home) during the shooting of "Jack of All Trades"

bummer2323: "what hair he has/" lol

chat_guest2001: and we entertained all the guest stars

krissykfk: Here's one: I'll bet there some seriously funny outtakes from JOAT. Any chance of us ever seeing any?

joxersfan: that must have been fun!

bummer2323: I bet..

japjoea: tHAT MUST HAVE BEEN INTERESTING

bummer2323: I would love to see outtakes!!!!! Good question!

indianajgirl44: yeah!!

chat_guest2001: it got very crowded with Mark Hedlow (who played King George) and Hori Ahipene (who played Blackbeard) in the camper!

krissykfk: <---- Blushing

hbkidywo: I would love to see "extended" versions of all the eps. Did you guys film enough ever for 43 (tv hour) eps?

Shirley_LeVasseur left c_samraimi:1.

Shirley_LeVasseur joined c_samraimi:1.

japjoea: YES!

chat_guest2001: in Mark's case it was a documentary (i.e. playing someone who was stark raving mad)

chat_guest2001: by the way Mark was the host for the awards ceremony in Wellington that Stephen went to

bummer2323: a documentary??

japjoea: What happened Shirley

sirenia2525: cool

chat_guest2001: no, it was a very tight shooting schedule

chat_guest2001: 1 episode every 4 days

bummer2323: OUCH

Shirley_LeVasseur: (my ISP disconnected me -- it's lame)

joxersfan: wow!

sirenia2525: wow

hbkidywo: wow

indianajgirl44: dang!!

bummer2323: too bad!

Mayfair51: Hard work!

blacky_blacky: but what about the outtakes?

japjoea: Well, I;m glad your back

bummer2323: does that mean no outtakes?

joxersfan: will there be a JoaT outakes tape?

japjoea: They would be great to see.

chat_guest2001: there were lots of outtakes, yes

Shirley_LeVasseur: (thanks :) )

krissykfk: YEAH!!! What about em!!!

Mayfair51: Bet they are so talented they had no outtakes.

bummer2323: share the wealth!!!!!

blacky_blacky: can you tell us abouty one?

chat_guest2001: There is a wonderful tape of bloopers

hbkidywo: I'd love to see Jack on video, or in second run (providing they don't chop the eps up)

bummer2323: how can we push for them!!

chat_guest2001: that Bruce and Sam Clarke (one of the Executive Producers) put together

chat_guest2001: they spent hours and hours on it

Shirley_LeVasseur: blooper tape?????

bummer2323: any chance we may see them?

Mayfair51: Bloopers!!!!! Gimme, gimme!

krissykfk: Hello!

sirenia2525: i'm game

chat_guest2001: they showed it at the wrap party

bummer2323: AAACCCKKK

joxersfan: they should sell at BC's web site!

japjoea: Can we see it PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!

bummer2323: exactly

chat_guest2001: Bruce made sure every person on the crew and in the cast got a copy

bummer2323: AAACCKKK

Mayfair51: COPY!!!!!!!

Shirley_LeVasseur: groovy :)

bummer2323: ask them if they'll make copies!!!

chat_guest2001: so it may turn up over there (in the US) yet

sirenia2525: that's sweet:)

indianajgirl44: wish i had one!

krissykfk: Oh, what I wouldn't give.

chat_guest2001: it's a wonderful tape

japjoea: I'm gonna cry!

jackaltrades: It would be an ideal extra to include on a DVD, if they could make one for the show!

chat_guest2001: Stephen and I did a "commercial"parody

bummer2323: I WANT ONE!!

joxersfan: have Bruce sell them on his wabsite

chat_guest2001: he did one as Brogard for Wilkinson Swords

Mayfair51: Let's swamp Bruce with letters for the blooper viodeo!

hbkidywo: LOL

Shirley_LeVasseur: lol

joxersfan: i will

sirenia2525: just thinking that Mayfair:)

chat_guest2001: and I did one as a bank mortgage manager, dressed as the Marquis de Sade

japjoea: Good idea!!

joxersfan: rotf!

Shirley_LeVasseur: heehee

sirenia2525: OMG! LOL!

Mayfair51: With real swords this time!LOL!

Jordi32196: ROTFL!

bummer2323: How cool, I would love to see those commercials!

krissykfk: Again, oh, oh oh, what I wouldn't give...

japjoea: hahahahaha

chat_guest2001: Stephen says he had a cameo in that one, but we won't go into that

joxersfan: why not?

bummer2323: ouch..do share!

chat_guest2001: On the Jacksie Awards....

bummer2323: now i'm curious!

Shirley_LeVasseur: (must be embarassing!) ;)

sirenia2525: LOL

japjoea: Come on!

joxersfan: share with us!

chat_guest2001: Stephen and I had a gag on the set that we were like Siamese twins

japjoea: Plezzzz!!

joxersfan: oh god!

chat_guest2001: since we were in so many shots together

japjoea: OMG!

chat_guest2001: Siamese twins joined at the close-up

bummer2323: it almost seemed like twins on th e show..

sirenia2525: no kidding;)

Mayfair51: LOL!

Shirley_LeVasseur: lol

sirenia2525: oh my!

Jordi32196: LOL!

chat_guest2001: usually I was in the front.

joxersfan: lol

Mayfair51: Hee, hee!

Shirley_LeVasseur: ( I thought that was subtest)

chat_guest2001: But if I was tired, Stephen always managed to push his way in front of me

bummer2323: you know, he's right...never thought about it before

joxersfan: me neither

japjoea: tHAT EXPLAINS A LO...

krissykfk: Anyone on the set a big practical joker?

joxersfan: Prob Vern or Bruce!

Mayfair51: Bet Bruce was.

bummer2323: you mean, including bruce, or excluding him?

chat_guest2001: we gave the Jacksie Awards primarily to the people who were behind the scenes

japjoea: What about angie?

chat_guest2001: the props dept. made these wonderful trophies

bummer2323: what a cool idea

chat_guest2001: they made beautiful little scrolls to go with them

Mayfair51: so thoughtful!

chat_guest2001: there were about 14 of them

sirenia2525: awww!

krissykfk: Whatever, I just love practical joke stories!!!

japjoea: Wish we could see one

chat_guest2001: so the Studio cleaner (i.e. presumably janitor) got an award

bummer2323 gives chat_guest2001 a big hug

hbkidywo: Have you ever thought of going to some fan conventions, Stuart?

chat_guest2001: we structured them to sound like awards that might normally be given to directors and actors

Jordi32196: Well Stuart, speaking of the Jacksies, "Governor Croque's Study" has arranged a little something for some of you guys...

japjoea: About My advice, I could really use it.

lasermn: dHoney Nougat won one of the awards, didn't, she?

{Ed. Note: the previous night, during our "dress rehearsal" for the chat, Mr. Devenie revealed that Nigel, aka "Honey Nougat," was in fact the Vanna White-ish "escort girl" who ushered each Jacksie Award winner on and off stage. Honey also memorably dressed in one of Jennifer Sky's outfits to perform a similar role for the "Cleopatra 2525" wrap party. Since there was no separate wrap party planned for the crew of "Jack," the four principals - Stuart, Stephen, Angie and Bruce - chipped in and threw a party on their own for the cast and crew! Pretty impressive!}

chat_guest2001: Fort example - Wayne Rose, the 2nd Unit Dir. - there was a running joke that he wanted my part

bummer2323: any talk of a strictly JOAT convention/reunion thingy?

chat_guest2001: at one point he was the double for my hand

japjoea: That would be great.

chat_guest2001: (in a closeup)

bummer2323: a hand double??

chat_guest2001: so he got the award for....Best Handjob

japjoea: hmm

Jordi32196: Not Croque's signature? LOL

joxersfan: Being a hand dobble is very hazordus

sirenia2525: oh boy

japjoea: Yup

jackaltrades: (Now that's the kind of double entendre we've come to know!)

chat_guest2001: Stephen is working on a show called "Dark Knight"

hbkidywo: I hate to do this, but I have a dinner date waiting. This was so cool. Thank you Stuart for the awesome Christmas party

chat_guest2001: It's about Ivanhoe

japjoea: Depends on what your doing

joxersfan: Will it show in the US?

chat_guest2001: so Stephen has gone back even further in time

bummer2323: Ivanhoe...cool

sirenia2525: wow

chat_guest2001: this is a TV series for the UK

joxersfan: darn!

Jordi32196: Bye HB!

Mayfair51: Will we see that show?

sirenia2525: bye HB

japjoea: Bye HBK

hbkidywo left c_samraimi:1.

joxersfan: cya HB

chat_guest2001: It's mainly cast from around Wellington

Mayfair51: ciao!

chat_guest2001: unlike Pacific Renaissance shows, which are primarily cast from Auckland

japjoea: IT COULD BE BROUGHT OVER THOUGH, RIGHT?

sirenia2525: the UK produces Dark Night?

Mayfair51: What part does Stephen play?

japjoea: I mean they brought Dr. Who.

blacky_blacky: im here

krissykfk: Well, I've gotta leave and go Christmas Shopping with the old Ball and Chain, ha ha. Good night, everyone, and thanks, Stuart!!

bummer2323: maybe the bbc channel...

chat_guest2001: Dark Knight

joxersfan: Bye!

bummer2323: bye

sirenia2525: bye

japjoea: Bye!

chat_guest2001: Stephen plays a villain who makes Brogard look like Mary Poppins

bummer2323: LOL

joxersfan: oh no!

jackaltrades: Yikes

indianajgirl44: oh lord!

krissykfk: See y'all on the MB, little American Monkeys!

japjoea: That's bad1

chat_guest2001: He had to learn how to fence for "Jack"

joxersfan: I wanna see this show!

sirenia2525: wow. sounds like something I want to see

blacky_blacky: are you going to tell us about any of the practical jokes opn the show?

chat_guest2001: and he's quite a good fencer now

Jordi32196: LOL

jackaltrades: He looked pretty convincing!

chat_guest2001: on practical jokes.......

bummer2323: What did they think of the football scene?

krissykfk: Oooh, gotta stay for my question!!

japjoea: iT SOUNDS GREAT

chat_guest2001: the best was the joke played on Bruce when he's in the coffin (from "Dead Woman Walking")

Jordi32196: Loved Bruce and Stephen's fencing scenes!

sirenia2525: welloh no!

chat_guest2001: Bruce had to get in the coffin

blacky_blacky: which was???

indianajgirl44: heard that joke!

chat_guest2001: and have the lid closed

Mayfair51: Oh, no!

chat_guest2001: the shot was supposed to finish once the lid was closed

Jordi32196: Oh boy...

joxersfan: I see an impending problem

chat_guest2001: Being a pro, he wouldn't open the lid until he heard "Cut!"

joxersfan: oh no!

bummer2323 chuckles in amusement

chat_guest2001: of course a shoot like Jack has 30-40 people on the set....

chat_guest2001: so the lid closes

chat_guest2001: and every single person crept quietly out of the studio

japjoea: I know

jackaltrades: (BC mentioned the coffin gag in one of his chats earlier this year.)

sirenia2525: Yep

chat_guest2001: and they left the camera running

indianajgirl44: yep

sirenia2525: LOL!

sirenia2525: LOL!

Mayfair51: I remember now.

chat_guest2001: he stayed there for 3-4 minutes at least

sirenia2525: still funny:)

jackaltrades: Good joke!

chat_guest2001: then opened it, and no one was there!

bummer2323: See... this would be on the infamous outtakes reel!!

t_antares2000: lol

Jordi32196: ROTFL!!

Mayfair51: What a pro!

joxersfan: Funny!!!

krissykfk: Oh, pease say this is on the BLOOPERS tape!

bummer2323: I'd love to see that, too

chat_guest2001: I imagine he thought it was the quickest cancellation in the history of television

krissykfk: LOL

joxersfan left c_samraimi:1.

joxersfan joined c_samraimi:1.

japjoea: Evil, pure evil. I like it!

chat_guest2001: he was wicked with Angie, wasn't he?

bummer2323: how so??

joxersfan left c_samraimi:1.

chat_guest2001: She is very susceptible to what we call "corpsing"

bummer2323: ??

Mayfair51: Corpswhat?

chat_guest2001: it means "cracking up" during a scene

japjoea: You got kicked out, huh?

chat_guest2001: Bruce would constantly be "corpsing " her

sirenia2525: with this group, I'd imagine so;)

bummer2323: With Bruce around, I'd be susceptible too

chat_guest2001: but Stephen was very clever on corpsing Bruce

Mayfair51: I would, too!

jackaltrades: (Why that little American monkey!)

japjoea: This is crazy

Jordi32196: LOL

sirenia2525: LOL

indianajgirl44: hehe

chat_guest2001: I recall in one instance, Bruce did about 8 takes of a scene (this is on the blooper tape by the way)

blacky_blacky: i would have love to have seen that!!!!!

bummer2323: OH, i would so love to see Stephen "corpsing" Bruce

sirenia2525: oh yeah!

joxersfan joined c_samraimi:1.

bummer2323: WE MUST HAVE THE BLOOPER TAPE

chat_guest2001: this was at the start of the race in "X Marquis the Spot"

chat_guest2001: Stephen howls like a dog at the start

bummer2323: LOL

Mayfair51: LOL!!!!

indianajgirl44: hahahahaha!!

joxersfan: funny!

chat_guest2001: and there's a sequence where Bruce just can't get the line out

japjoea: Any chance of seeing this tape?

chat_guest2001: and Stephen is totally unmoved in each take

joxersfan: what line was that?

joxersfan: What ep?

bummer2323: Is there anyone we can talk to about getting this tape??

sirenia2525: Marquis

krissykfk: Oh, I really do hafta go. :( Please, someone bug someone till we see that tape! 'Night!

lasermn: I really like the idea Mayfair51 came up with lets bombard Bruce with letters asking him for the outtakes video of JOAT. We can send our letters to Studios USA just like always, and ask that they be forwarded to Bruce

sirenia2525: Probably BC

krissykfk left c_samraimi:1.

blacky_blacky: what was the line?

sirenia2525: Or e-mail BC?

japjoea: I need to see it

joxersfan: lets fill up Bruces inbox!!!!!

indianajgirl44: hehehehe

sirenia2525: both sound good

Mayfair51: EMAIL CAMPAIGN!!!! LET'S GET NASTY!!!!!!

bummer2323: I'd hate to bombard BC's email, but we could send one respectful messge....maybe a petition.....or just a message as a group

sirenia2525: Mayfair!

sirenia2525: good idea bummer:)

Mayfair51: YEAH!!!!! HA HA HA!!!!!

Jordi32196: I *might* know a way to get ahold of the tape, guys... Wait until I ask a couple of people.

bummer2323: NO, LET'S NOT FILL HIS INBOX

jackaltrades: I agree with that... remember he still needs his e-mail contact

chat_guest2001: I should think the message as a group would be a good idea

joxersfan: be nice mayfair!

japjoea: Can you please ask him about the acting advice?

blacky_blacky: come on guys id like to know what the line was he flubbed up!!!!!

bummer2323: he's so nice to let us have his email, let's not abuse it

Mayfair51: Just kidding, guys:)

chat_guest2001: On acting .....

bummer2323: there you go, joe

chat_guest2001: Stephen is laughing at that one (in other words, what advice would he give to an aspiring actor)

japjoea: I agree one letter with all our names on it.

bummer2323: we know, mayfair!

sirenia2525: lol!

japjoea: Thank you!!

joxersfan: what?

jackaltrades: To Mr. Devenie: I enjoyed your performance throughout the series, but especially liked your work in "X Marquis the Spot" and "Croquey in the Pokey".

t_antares2000: good idea

chat_guest2001: If you're sure it's the thing you can do best, and you can't think of anything else to do,

sirenia2525: hey, stephen's laughing--trouble maybe?

sirenia2525: ;)

chat_guest2001: then go for it

bummer2323: BTW, Mayfair, it's so good to talk to you again!!!

Mayfair51: Thanks, bummer!

chat_guest2001: On how Stephen got into acting.....

japjoea: Oh.

chat_guest2001: he did a few amateur plays....

chat_guest2001: around 1987 or '88

chat_guest2001: and then....

Mayfair51: Nice to be back!

chat_guest2001: he did "The Phenomenal Frock Show"

chat_guest2001: that was his first professional engagement

chat_guest2001: it was a kind of fashion show with characters and a plot

chat_guest2001: I remember seeing it

bummer2323: weird...

Jordi32196: LOL!

sirenia2525: what did you think of it?

bummer2323: a fashion show with a plot?

chat_guest2001: and then he worked at 2 theatres in Wellington

Mayfair51: He is a great actor

bummer2323: yep!

chat_guest2001: and then did a fantastic performance in a film called "The End of the Golden Weather"

jawbone326 joined c_samraimi:1.

chat_guest2001: My first professional performance was in 1972

indianajgirl44: yeah ur right jb

jawbone326: that was easy

jawbone326: hehehe

chat_guest2001: it was a play called "The Indian Wants the Bronx" by Israel Horowitz

(ed. note: at this point, we had a brief discussion about Horowitz, and how his son Adam is one of the Beastie Boys)

bummer2323: Jordi's doing a transcript, JB. so you can catch what you missed

jawbone326: so the chat guest is stuart

jawbone326: ah

chat_guest2001: so my first professional role was done with a New York accent!

jawbone326: I missed him?

Shirley_LeVasseur: Mr. Devenie, you meade Croque one of the most lovable villains ever, IHO :)

sirenia2525: would the amatuer groups be like experimental theater groups?

bummer2323: OUCH
