Succot 1998: Our first succah ever! On the Thursday of Chol Hamoed the Jewish Sixthformers at City trekked over to see the Girls' School succah, and eat some falafel and hummous - all for the measly sum of one pound. On Friday they came to us, and we brought in our old friend Rabbi Wilshanksi to say a few words and play a few traditional tunes. We had a good turn out, and of course some cake and biscuits to feed the hungry rabble.

December 1998: Nosh n'learn with Rabbi Tatz from JLE. Lead a thought provoking and topical discussion on medical ethics for fifth and sixth formers - inspirational! He'll be back in the spring.

December 1998: Dr. Colbey Forman, the 'wood-breaking in assembly bloke', lead an inspiring session after school, where you could focus your mind to reach your goals ! Loads of hypnotic antics - very cool.

Chanukah 1998: Chanukah party, complete with candle lighting, some festive fiddling by Rabbi Wilshanki, and copious amounts of doughnuts generously provided by Schools J-Link.

January 1999: Excellent Nosh n'learn with Rabbi Sinclair, an actor-turned-Rabbi who not only produced Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody(!!!) in his London studio, but was once a Hollywood star of film and stage. He and a mate came up with the idea for, and wrote of the Rocky Horror Show(!!!!). He now resides in the Ohr Sameach Yeshiva in Israel, and is a truly amazing man.

February 1998: Tu B'Shvat party at the Girls' School. The lads got there a little late, but most importantly, not too late for the free Haagen Dazs! Whilst the ladies ate with dignity, we ate like savages - but then we got more ice-cream, so I wonder who came out on top there then?

February 1999: The long-awaited visit of the author of 'Kosher Sex' and 'the Jewish Guide to Adultery', Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. He spoke to an audience of teachers and pupils, on Glenn Hoddle, relationships and of course, sex!

February 1999: JC Editor Ned Temko came to speak. With some light-hearted humour and an informal atmosphere, it was an interesting meeting for all.

March 1999: Chief Rabbi spoke during lunch break in the Great Hall, on the subject of Pesach as a time to reflect on education and its importance in our way of life. You might have noticed that on this occasion we managed to get a photo of ourselves in the London Jewish News - fame at last!
