uses SHORTS - The Noisiest of the Smaller Aircraft), AeroMech and
Areomill. He has Lear Jets for lease, and builds Hangers for lease
to attract even more Noise Making Aviation Industries to the Airport.
He was behind
the (failed) Amphibia Air Spectacular Show a few years ago and was a driving
force for the push to Privatize the Airport. and Now he is the Prime Mover
in getting SINGAPORE FLYING COLLEGE to set up the Biggest International
Pilot Training School in the World right in our midst.
Singapore Airlines
are thrilled that they have found an Airport willing to have them as they
have been searching all over the WORLD for such a SUCKER.
Nobody else wants their NOISE POLLUTION imposed on the people. And
Mr. Padgett is thrilled at the prospect of making More $Millions. So they
are calling it a WIN-WIN
Situation. (Marcoola of course is the big
LOOSER).
And our Good
Old State Minister Tom Barton stated that this was another step to making
Sunshine Coast Airport the AVIATION HUB for South East Asia and is providing
INCENTIVES
to the Singapore Airlines so as to Clinch the Deal.

Initially Singapore
are bringing in 4 more Lear Jets to accommodate the 50 students who will
be here for 8 months at a time.
They're starting
IMMEDIATELY with an official opening is planned for SEPTEMBER 2002. They
claim that the local economy will be boosted by $100 MILLION by providing
meals and accommodation for the 50 students at any one time. But it will
be SHORT LIVED as they (Padgett and Co.) will be are already planning
to build their own On-Site Complex (Accommodation and Canteen) so as to
keep ALL the spin-off profits in their own pockets - Then they won't even
have to go out for meals -
