The Night Hours

Chris looked down at Jamie. Everytime the wind blew slightly, her curls brushed against his face, tickling him in that arousing way. He looked out at the pool. The last three people were involved in some sort of orgy. All he knew was that they were seemingly connected into one. He watched with interest, thinking of what he could be doing with the girl on his shoulder.

"Chris?" Jamie said, her voice tantalizing his ears. The way she said his name sent shudders down his back. "Yeah?" he answered. She pulled her head up from off his shoulder and looked at him. "Let's go swimming!" she said. He looked at her. Swimming hadn't exactly been what he was expecting. But her blue eyes were sparkling at the thought of the pool so he had no choice but to go.

"Last one in is a rotten egg!" he said and the two ran off laughing.

Daniel sat on the couch, and he felt a normalcy fall upon him. "What the hell?" he asked. Why was his trip so weak? He thought too soon..suddenly a girl, who looked familiar, was liplocked with a guy, fell onto the small spot next to them. The sudden movement on the couch sent a wave his way and he suddenly felt like he was melting into the couch. As the couple next to him moved, he started to slip beneath the cracks in the couch, his body molding to the contours of the couch. He looked up to see just how far he had fallen, and again, he saw that guy crawling up on the ceiling. "Fucking rad!" he said, slurred. He had a new found fascination with the celing and attempted to reach for it, but he couldn't get out from beneath the couch. He had melted too far down. This made him sad. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, all these tears came. "All I want to do is be Spiderman!" he sobbed to himself.
Sarah and Ben were still dancing an hour later, but a little slower. The weed had taken its toll on the two dancing bodies, and the music was just staring to move too fast for either to keep up.

"Maybe we should chill for a while." Ben suggested. Sarah smiled dreamily. "Yeah...that sounds good." she just kind of fell to the floor, in the same position Ben had found her hours earlier..and although he had criticized her earlier for being on the floor, he was too worn out not to fall right with her. The bourbon was also making him the slightest bit aroused as it always did. Alcohol did that to him. But he didn't have anyone to fix that problem. Falling to the ground hadn't gone over so well with his head, though. A sudden throbbing pain hit it and he searched for a pillow. He smiled. He would solve two problems with one.

"Sarah, although I'm not really wanting to move, let's move into a room. Ash has this awesome walk-in closet upstairs and it's huge!" he stood up and pulled her up with him. She smiled. "Lead the way!". He grabbed her hand and they made their way through the bodies.

Out of the corner of her eye, Nic saw Ben leading a girl who she assumed to be Sarah up the stairs. She shook her head, laughing. Ben sure did move fast. But that was Ben, and she knew that he was really looking for a girl. Maybe he'd leave her and Daniel alone more often now...but as for Chris. She rolled her eyes. She never would understand why Chris was still with Kayt. Hell, she didn't understand why Chris was ever with Kayt. But she decided that it must be something like the sex was good, or something along those lines, because she knew other people that were quite attracted to Chris.

She shook her head. She had better things to concentrate on.. like finding Daniel. She had promised to come right back to him. That had been five beers ago. She figured she might as well try to find the wanker.

She didn't have to look far. When she walked by the couch, she heard a quiet sobbing..she knew that sobbing from somewhere. She had heard it many times late at night. Although she wasn't in the straightest mind state, she knew she should be concerned.

"Dan, love, what's wrong?" she asked, falling onto the couple, who were still making out. Her light frame didn't faze the two much, as they continued with themselves. She looked at the girl for a second to apologize, and realized that it was none other than Laura. "Go Laura!" she said quietly, but Laura didn't acknowledge her. She turned her attention back to the sobbing Daniel. She reached over and kissed him on the cheek. "Why are you crying? It's a party... you can't cry!" He shook his head. "Why can't I get up? Why can't I be Spiderman? SpiderDan!" he went from a sobbing Daniel to a laughing Daniel with his own play on words. He suddenly shot up and turned to face Nic, who was confused. "What?" she muttered softly. "I'm SpiderDan!" he said, and he ran off. Nic went to stand, but she wasn't in the mood. "Okay hon..come back soon!" she said softly and relaxed.

Kayt had picked up Lauren, and the two were walking into Ashley's around midnight. The party was still in full swing and it put a smile on Lauren's face. Lauren didn't get out much, so she was always in awe of such things. "Oooh! Hot guy!" she smiled. "See ya Kayt!" she ran off before Kayt could protest. She looked around. Here she was...alone at a huge party. She wondered where Chris was. "Oh well..might as well try to enjoy myself." She started to walk when all of a sudden someone ran past her, saying something about having to climb the walls. She looked back to see a blond headed thin boy run by. "Daniel?" she said confused. Why was Daniel here? Wouldn't that mean then that Nic was here?

She walked into the living room and suddenly tripped. She looked back to see Nic's legs sprawled out. Nic looked wasted, so she didn't bother to talk to her. She continued to walk. She was heading outside until she heard a familiar laugh, followed by some splashing. She frowned. "What? But...". Half of her said storm outside to see if the laugh was indeed who she thought. She decided to listen to the other half. She suddenly remembered that a window in Ash's walk-in closet had a perfect view of the pool. She pushed her way through the dancers, each giving her dirty looks before resuming their activity. She walked into Ash's room, where two people were on the bed. She rolled her eyes and opened the closet, where to her shock, Ben and some girl were getting it on. Ben jumped off of the girl and turned to look at Kayt. "What the fuck?" he asked. The girl looked at Kayt, embarassed. "Um..hey!" she said. Kayt looked at Ben and at the girl. "Sorry Ben...but is Chris here?" Ben gave Kayt an evil look. "He's not my fucking boyfriend. I don't keep track. But can you leave?" he was starting to get pissed off. Kayt ignored Ben and looked at the girl, who had thrown on a shirt by now. "Who are you?" She blushed, but smiled. "I'm Sarah. I'm new to Merewether." Kayt turned to Ben. "What do you do, wait for them to come to town and then grab them up right away?" Ben couldn't believe what he was hearing. He was starting to dislike Kayt more and more as the seconds passed. He had to get her out. And he knew exactly what would happen.

"Actually, I do know where Chris is. Look out in the pool. Last time I saw him, he was getting ready to fuck some chick." Kayt's jaw dropped. She rushed out of the closet, slamming the door behind her. Ben smiled and turned back to Sarah, who was smiling. "Who was that?" she asked. He kissed her forehead. "Chris' ball and chain, Kayt. But forget about her...where were we?" he smiled and they resumed where they had left off.

Kayt raced downstairs, running into the same dancers, who gave her the same dirty looks. She stopped when she came to the door. She had decided that she wouldn't approach Chris. She would just kill this girl later.

Kayt stepped out on the porch and sat down, making sure she wasn't visible from the pool. She stared at Chris, who was passionately making out with some girl. From her point of view, she couldn't tell who she was. But then she remembered that Ash's parents had binoculars on the porch, for some odd reason. She crawled over and pulled them out and focused on Chris and the girl. She gasped. "Jamie?" she said, shocked. She hated Jamie..she was too preppy for her tastes. But obviously there was something about Jamie that Chris liked, because she was the one in the pool with him, not her. This pained her to no extent. She ran back inside, tears welling up. She needed something to get her mind off of this. And she thought she saw the solution, for on the table was a large bottle of whiskey.
