Pokemon Walkthrough

PALLET TOWN: Starting point where your adventure will begin. As a trainer your most important goal is to become the Pokemon Master. Once you walk in the field by Pallet Town you'll be chased after by Professor. Oak, who then will guide you back to his building and give you one of your starting Pokemon Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle.Once you have chosen a Pokemon, Gary your Rival will also choose a pokemon to the right of the Pokemon you chose and you will have your chance for your very first battle. You also should aknowledge that whatever pokemon you choose, Gary's Pokemon will always be stronger than yours because to the right of each pokemon, one is stronger than the other,There are 15 types of Pokemon, each type has its advantages and disadvatages against another type of Pokemon. In your first battle against Gary you have a very low chance of losing because you are as unexperienced as Gary so that causes you to be equal in talent. The type of pokemon will make a difference in future battles but the knowledge of your Pokemons abilities depends on you as a trainer to guide your Pokemon. The greater effort you put in levaling up a Pokemon the more chances of your Pokemon learning new abilities and later evolving. The benefits of evolving a Pokemon is that they will become stonger but some pokemon are unable to evolve. Some pokemon will evolve differently, some may be levaled up, some may have to be traded with a "friend", and others evolve with an evolving stone. After you battle Gary head straight toward and past the field where now you'll go to Viridian City.

VIRIDIAN CITY: The first visit you take at the Pokemon Mart in Viridian City you will not beable to purchase anything at the store, untill you deliver the package the clerk gives to you to deliver to Professor Oak. Now head back to Pallet Town, Professor. Oak will be at his building waiting for you. Once you have delivered the package Professor. Oak will give you a pokedex a high-tek computer book to record the Pokemon you see. Now before heading back to Viridian City be sure to get map from Gary's sister who is also living in Pallet town, she'll only give it to you if you have gotten your Pokedex. Once back at Viridian City you'll beable to buy stuff at the Pokemon Mart and also get passed the fainted man. Additionally there is a, Pokemon centre to heal your pokemon after battle, a Pokemon Mart to purchase medicine and pokeballs to catch pokmeon with, most importantly the Pokemon gym #8. This gym can't be accessed unless you have recieved the seven badges from all seven gym leaders. Now you are able to go to your next destination, Viridian Forest. Be sure to get some Pokeballs to catch new pokemon you'll meet. Viridian Forest: Your first chance to challenge other trainers. In the forest you find assorted types of p okemon, one of them will be Pikachu. When you catch Pikachu he may only be at leval that is quite low but he is neccesity when you'll later battle Misty the leader of Gym#2 who uses water pokemon. Pikachu is a electric pokemon and Misty's are water, electric have an advantage over water, but if your Pikachu is at a realy leval it'll make no difference in what pokemon you use because you'll lose. In this forest you'll also find a metapod and a kakuna, these pokemon may seem useless with only once attack which is hardening but once they evolve they'll become a butterfree and beedril two bug type pokemon with great attacks. There will be many items you will find in this forest so look around. This is a great place to leval up your pokemon to level up metapod and kakuna do this simple trick. Put your weakest pokemon at the top when you get into a battle switch your pokemon to your strongest which has a chance of winning. When you win the experience goes to both pokemon which will evolve or teach your pokemon new attacks quicker. Once you're out of the forest you should be at Pewter City.

Pewter City: This is the first city where you'll beable to battle against your first gym leader Brock, be sure to have leveled up your pokemon. Tip, when battling in caves or gyms be sure to have a few potions handy encase a pokemon gym isn't close, or else you'll have to go to the last Pokemon centre you visited. In every gym you visit you'll meet up with your gym leaders secondary trainers. Be prepared to use your potions here. In this city you will also find that there is a museum, the admission is $50 to enter, at this price you'll beable to talk to new people and add two extinct pokemon's name to your pokedex. Your next destination is Mount Moon, heal all your pokemon at the Pokemon centre before proceeding. Mount Moon: This is the cave that will take you from the outskirts of Pewter City to the path of Cerulean City. There is another pokemon centre located at the entrance of the cave. Even though your pokemon may not need to be healed you'll beable to buy a pokemon. Once inside go to the right of your "gameboy" screen, there will be a strange looking chubby man standing there he's a magikarp sales man. He will sell you the magikarp for $500. At first the magikarp will seem like a waist of money and space but just unlike the others he is one of the strongest of all. The Magikarp will evolve at level 20 into a Gyradaros. Once your in mount moon, search around you'll find many items just lying around, there's also a moonstone here, there are only 5 moonstone I am told in the whole game. Once through Mount Moon you should arrive at Cerulean City.

CERULEAN CITY: Once you enter Cerulean city go up to the bridge, there'll you face your arch rival Gary and other Pokemon trainers on this path. At the end of this bridge you'll be rewared a gold nugget worth $5000 from a member of Team Rocket. The Team Rocket member will battle against you and after you win he'll disappear. Go forward in you "gameboy" screen and now toward your left left. There you find a small field patch with one trainer standing there. In this field you'll find an Abra and a few other strong Pokemon. The abra can only be found in a few ares and is quite rare to run into. Althoughj this Pokemon looks easy to catch most of the time when you won't beable even to hit it once without it teleporting away. The best way to catch abra is to make it sleep, with a pokemon like butterfree, then you'll beable to attack it. Now go back up and head to the right, you'll find more pokemon trainers in that path your heading towards. Once you defeat every trainer in that path there will be a small cottage to the upper right of your "gameboy" screen. Go inside the cottage and help Bill the Pokemanic transform back to his human state and you'll recieve a ticket to board the SS. Anne which is docked in the next city you visit, Vermillon City. Leave Bill's cottage and re-enter again now check Bills computer, there you will beable to record a few new pokemon on your Pokedex. Cerulean city is also the location of Gym#2. In this gym you'll battle against Misty and the trainers blocking her. If you ahve a Pikachu that is well leveled up fighting Misty will be extremely easy. Oncy you have won, the guards blocking the house you may have seen are not now. Enter that house and you'll see a big hole created by Team rocket. There you will face once of the Team Rocket members, if you beat him you'll recieve a tm. and now your on to path towards route 6. On this path you find Meowth once of the pokmeon that mainly exist at this part of the fields.

Vermillon City: Location of gym #3. To the immediate left of the entrance towards Vermillon city is a Poke Centre. Go into the farthest house towards the left now, here a man will give you the Old Fishing Rod. This rod can only catch level 5 magikarps. Remember to deposid some items on to the computer in th Poke Centre. You can only hold 20 items at a time. You'll find many items on the SS. Anne. To the south of the city their is a pier with large Crusise Liners that is docked, the SS. Anne. On the boat there are many trainers in each room you may find an item lying around, so start searching. In this ship be prepared to battle your arch rival. Now set in mind this ship has a captain who is sea-sick which is kindv'e ironic but once you find and talk to him he will rewardyou with HiddenMachin01, which is the ability to cut grass and trees blocking you. TreeCutter can only be used on some pokemon. Now go back to to Vermillon City. Talk to the man who is in the top left house in Vermillon City he'll be dressed in a black suit. This house has 4 people inside and 2 which are pokemon. After you talk to that man for awhile he will give you an Exchange ticket for a free bicycle at the bicyble shop in Cerulean City. Also in Vermillon City there's a cabin next to the docks, there's another home of a Pokemon enthusiast, trade Spearow a bird pokemon and in return you'll get a farfetch'd. Now go through Diglets cave, as this name implies there are many diglets in this cave, and you might even find a dugrito an evolved form of a diglet. Once you're out of the cave look around you'll find one of the Professor. Oak's aides and another peice of moon stone lying around. He'll give you HiddenMachin05, whcih you can teach your pokemon the flash ability. The flash ability can be used on clefairies, pikachu's, etc(only certain types of pokemon). I failed to mention once a HiddenMachin is taught it can't be erased. Go back to cerulean city and now take route 9&10 to the path tht leads to the entrance to the Rock Tunnel. The flash ability is quite usful in this cave if you don't have it go back and find the Professor Aide, without you can't see anything in the cave. Once you find your way out of the cave you will arrive at Lavender Town.

LAVENDER TOWN: Location of the Pokemon Tower. The Pokmeon Tower is full of ghostly spirits. The ghosts in the tower only be fought with when you recieve the Silph scope. The Silph scope is not found in Lavender Town, it is found at Celadon City. This town does not have much importance. There is a man in the house at the bottom right who will grade your Pokemon's name and rename it for you. There is a sleeping Pokemon monster, Snorlax. He can only be woken by the no fue flute. You'll recieve the flute when you defeat all the trainers in the Pokemon Tower who are blocking your way. Once you get to the top of the tower a man will give you the flute. If you are trying to get all 150 Pokemon there are only 2 sleeping snorlax's in the whole game. The path that was blocked by the sleeping Pokemon leads you to Safron City. On the way to Safron City there will only be one house along the way Go inside it and talk to the man he'll give you the Super Fishing Rod which can catch assorted water Pokemon.

CELADION CITY: City with the largest shopping centre. This city is also the location of gym #4. In this shopping centre there are many items you can buy like TM's, items to increase your Pokemon's health, speed, accuracy, etc. There are also evolving stones you can buy to evolve your Pokemon with. Pokemon evolved with stones are unable to learn new abilities by themselves, so watch out. On the very top of the shopping centre there will be 3 vending machines. The vending machine has three drinks if you give one drink of each she will reward you by giving you different TM's. In Celadon City they have a gaming centre where they play slot machines. There is a man standing in front of a poster. Talk to him and he'll fight you after beating him press your A button on your gameboy. You wil hear a sound, that's the sound of a stairwell opening. Go down the stairs. This is the lair of Team Rocket you'll also find the Silph scope once you have beaten the leader. Once back outside there is a small road to the left of the shopping centre. There will be the second sleeping Snorlax of this whole game blocking your path. Use the flute in your item list and wake him up. In this path there is a tree you can cut down, go up up and to the left there will be a house. This is the house of the girl who will give you the HiddenMachin02, the fly ability. This HM will work on all flying pokemon. You can fly to any city that has a Pokemon centre you have visited. I hope you traded in your ticket for a bicycle because your going to need it. Go back to the path of the Sleeping Snorlax you just battled against. Go forward and you'll see a building, inside there will be a guard. If you don't have your bicycle you won't beable to get passed. This bicycle path will lead you to Fuchsia City.

FUSCHIA CITY: This city is the location of Gym #5. Two houses to the south, near the entrance to the city. The house on the left is the house of the Safari Zone director. If you talk to him you won't know what he's saying because he lost his dentures. If you find his gold dentures he'll reward you with a HiddenMachin04, strength. With this ability, used only on certain types of pokemon you'll beable to push rocks. To the house next to the Safari Zone director there will be man that will give you another fishing rod. This fishing rod can only catch two types of water pokemon. Now in Fuchsia City there's a safari zone. In the safari zone you'll find the Safari Zone Director's gold dentures, this is also the place to get Hiddenmachin03. Wtih this HM you'll beable to ride on water pokemon's back. To enter the safari zone there's a fee of $500 you'll recieve 500 steps, use your steps wisely and you'll also recieve 30 Safari balls to catch pokemon with. At this price you'll beable to find numerous items lying around and assorted pokemon that you can't find any where else. So visit the Safari Zone often. While in the Safari Zone find a cabin with many statues in front of it, inside the cabin it should be really metalic. The man inside the metalic cabin will reward you with HM03 for being the first one find it. If you enter the Safari Zone again there should be a small patch of water, use your swim abillity on a pokemon like you magikarp or your evolved form Gyarados, very useful pokemon. Once in the water you should see an item it a gold nugget worth $5000, lucky you. While at Fuschia City you can buy Super balls or Hyper balls to catch your pokemon. These balls may cost more than the normal pokeballs but they also have a greater chance in catching pokemon. Once your done exploring Fuchsia City head back to Lavendar Town and defeat the second snorlax blocking the path.

SAFFRON CITY: The only way to get passed the guard is to give him a drink. If you don't have any more drinks from your past visit at Celadon City I guess you will have to go back and get a drink. Once the guard lets you pass you will be at the City of gym #6. There are two parts to gym #6. before you can go to the second part of the gym you have to defeat the leader once again of Team Rocket in there second hideout. In there hideout you'll face you rival Gary and one of the Team Rockets captured workers will give you Lapras one of the rarest Pokemon and can not be found in the game. After defeating Team Rocket you have access to the second part of the gym. Be sure to visit the first part for once you defeat the leader he'll reward you with 1 of the 2 pokemon you can pick, a Hitmochan or a Hitmonlee. These two pokemon don't evolve so you must take one and ask a friend to trade for the other. Now head back to Fuchsia City the quickest way is to use your fly ability. Once there at the pokemon centre head directly down and you'll be at a great body of water. This body of water will lead to the Sea Foam Islands use your swimming ability.

SEA FOAM ISLANDS: When you get to the Sea Foam Islands there will be two caves one that you have access to. The one that you have access to will lead you to Saffron City. The secret in this cave is to keep pushing the rocks untill it lands in the water to get out. In this cave you'll find many pokemon you may have not seen before, hope you brang some poke balls.

CINNIBAR ISLAND: This is the place of gym #7. On this island there are two useful buildings. One building with many facilities will bring your fossil that you won in mount moon and the amber you get on Cerulean City's Museum back to life. Your probaly asking: "I didn't find any amber in the museum." Yes thats right its the building attached to it. You will need the cut ability to cut down the tree that's blocking the building. Inside there are a few people inside, a man will give you the amber. The fossil and amber will transform into to rare and ancient pokemon. To get all 150 pokemon you have to trade pokmon from different versions but you should also know that there were two fossils in mount moon and you could only get one of them. The one that you didn't get turns into another pokemon that you can't find so tell your friend to get the one you don't have. The pokemon transformed from the fossil will evolve at a certain leval. The second building that is quite useful is the one where you'll find the key to gym #7. In this building the have a few open journals talking about a genitic researched pokemon mewtwo. He's the pokmon you will get after you beat the elite 4. There are many pokemon in this building so bring some poke balls. After beating gym #7 go back Viridian City.

VIRIDIAN CITY GYM: The leader of this gym is past leader you faced before, I wonder who it could be? Next, head to the Pokemon Headquarters.

VICTORY ROAD: After passing all the guys who ask you for you're badges, you will come to Victory Road. There you will find strong Pokemon, and some minor trainers. Also there you will find Moltres, the Thire Legendary Bird. You have to push boulders on circle things to open secret walls to get out. Next you face the Elite Four.

FINAL BATTLES: You will come up on a building after the cave. In the building is the Elite Four and a Pokemon Center and a Mart put together. Power up your Pokemon and buy some useful items. Then face the Elite Four. Your Pokemon should be at least level 60 and above if you expect to beat them. After you have beat the Elite Four, you have to face Gary. After you beat him, you become the Pokemon League Champion.

THE UNKNOWN DUNGEON: After you beat the game, go to Cerulean City. Go across the bridge and you will see water next to you. Surf in it and you will come up on a cave. Go in, and you will battle Pokemon that you could'nt battle before. At the end of the Cave you will see a Pokemon an a small island. He is MEWTWO, the one who escaped from that lab. Surf to him and catch him. Save the game before you get to him though.
