After leaving ECW in 1996, Mick Foley entered the WWF as Mankind, a deranged outcast who wears a leather mask over his face. Mick Foley wasn't actually thrilled with the original concept for "Mason the Mutilator", but he mustered the courage to tell Vince McMahon (WWF owner) that maybe Mankind the Mutilator was a better name. Luckily Vince dropped "the mutilator" before Mankind's first match (along with the Hannible Lector bars over the mouth). Mankind has made a huge impact in the WWF. People love Mankind's antics with Mr. Socko, a sock puppet he wears on his arm when delivering his finishing move, the Mandible Claw, (pressing ones fingers into a packet of nerves under the toungue, which is supposed to cause paralysis). Mankind has become the WWF Champion three times and is one of the most loved superstars in the federation.
