Muddy Ponders...

Welcome to My World

Let me show you, through some of my favorite things, a little bit about who I am.

Where I'd Like to Be...

The beach is one of my favorite places--especially in the cooler days of a Carolina autumn. The sound of the waves as they crash onto the shore, or, on calmer days, as they lap at the feet of the beachcombers... the music of the shells as they roll through the surf again and again... the cries of the seagulls--all of these are a salve for my soul. Walking alone, absorbing the sights, the sounds, and the scents of the shore, I can cleanse my psyche and renew my spirit.

...or maybe...

July 2000: Having just come home after three weeks in France, I have to admit that I'm a bit homesick for Don and his flat in Vigneux-sur-Seine. I miss Jessica and her 'gang,' and Sab, and all my other wonderful new friends. Such a warm welcome they gave me! I miss walking to the boulangerie at Place Anatole France, and strolling around the neighborhood with my Donald. Sitting on the terraces and watching the world go by...

Ahhh, those happy hours on the terraces-- but I'm told that my chair is still waiting for me!

December 2000 - January 2001: Once again, Don came to the US to visit, but this time when he left, it was different...this time it was not my sweetheart who left me until some undetermined future time, but my husband who would be coming back to stay after getting his proverbial ducks in a row back in France! On December 27, we were married in a warm and tender ceremony in the almost-freezing park across from the Piggly Wiggly. I miss him, but time will pass quickly until we are together again!

February 2004: And boy, did it ever pass quickly! It's hard for me to believe that three years have gone by since I last posted here. And with the passing of time, we decided that it would be better for me to move to France than for Don to move to the US, and so here I am. It's a bit cold right now for terrace-sitting, but both terraces are here and waiting patiently for warmer weather and bluer skies.

And now what we've all been waiting for...
