Behold the Basset - noblest among all Hounds!

Flash was born July 7,1994. We went to my sister's neighbors house to see his pups and ended up choosing Flash out of a litter of 9, he just had that "pick me! pick me!" quality. Although we were getting married the following week-end AND in the process of moving into our house my husband wanted the puppy and looking at that little floppy-eared angel I couldn't say No! Flash spent his first week at my sister Kathy's house along with her dogs Buster, Midget and the pot-bellied pig named Lobo! The day after the Wedding we went and picked up our "baby" for the hour and a half long ride back to Summerville (outside Charleston,SC). Flash whimpered a little bit but being it was his first car ride (and a LONG one at that) he did pretty good. He has since evolved into a CHAMPION CAR RIDER and thinks every time the doors are open he is going too! He had alot of practice the first two years of his life because we would drive from Summerville to Florence about every other week-end to visit my parents who were always very pleased to see their Basset Grandson. We would load up the dog food, leash, toys, chews, bedding, water bowl and away we'd go, stopping for plentiful pee and water breaks. I can't imagine what people go through taking babies on trips, I know what it's like getting the dog ready! LOL

Now we only live 30 minutes away from his Poppy and Granny so the traveling has gotten MUCH easier! We moved from Summerville to 24 acres of land in Darlington County where we have plenty of room for Flash to roam and sniff to his hearts content. Although he is an inside dog with his comfy bed right next to Mom & Dad's

Here Flash is ON Mom & Dad's bed! Look at that FACE!

Flash's first love is outdoors. Flash has been sharing the house with a white american shorthair male cat named Winston for a little over a year now. They get along like peas & carrots and provide MUCH of the entertainment around our household. Winston will soon have his own webpage as soon as I get his Aunt Bonnie to scan some pics for me. I will also have more pics of Flash by then too. Heaven knows I take enough of them, just need to get on the ball and have them scanned. My guys bring alot of joy to my life and I do not know what I would do without them. I have enjoyed being owned by a Basset Hound and collecting Basset Hound memorabilia so if anyone knows of any neat sites I may not know about, email me at Pooh-B@webtv.net Thanks!
