Hey There!
Well, we've got one more week of Hit List to go before we go on hiatus for the summer, boy are we looking forward to a holiday! We'll be back in the fall so be sure and look for us with lots more interviews with all your favorite bands and more!
If you watched the show this weekend, you'll know that it was B-Rok from the Backstreet Boys who was supposed to have gotten engaged. We were gettting bombarded with E-mails from viewers asking us about that rumour and like always we tried to get down to the truth of the matter.
Our sources are either from the artist themselves, band management or record company representatives. One of these sources, (but not the band) confirmed this rumour to be true. Since we ourselves have seen Brian with the girl in the new BSB video together over a year ago here in Toronto, we had absolutely no reason to doubt that the information provided to us was false, if indeed it is.
We must still wonder if we ever learn the truth of what's really happening with famous people who are in the public eye. Bands have been denying for years the existance of girlfriends, and even wives. John Lennon was married to his first wife Cynthia and even had a child - Julian, but record companies, band management and public relations people instructed all The Beatles to deny that fact. They felt if female fans knew that one of The Beatles was married, the band would drop in popularity and it would end their careers. When it was known that the members of the Beatles had girlfriends and wives, poor Linda McCartney and Yoko Ono were treated horribly by the very same people who professed their love to their husbands.
Maybe it really should be none of anyone's business at all if someone famous like B-Rok is dating, engaged or even married. After all, if we admire and love these people and call ourselves their fans... we should wish them all the best and truly hope they do find love!
