Condemned madness. Beautiful anger. Armageddon awareness. Assured supremacy. The music of Scholomance is designed to make the mindless flee for the dark corners of their own closed minds. Our music is designed with the self in prominence to satisfy the most natural will to conquer oppression and exterior hindrances.

One devout rejection of common theory. One embrace of strict classical theories. A singular but limiting decision could be made, but instead...

The two paths merge to form a dynamic entity of immense complexity, layers of sound and authentically orchestral and progressive metal compositions. We indulge the desire to leave mouths agape and to leave minds in wonderful coils of confusion. Guitar and keyboard solos dance and tangle amidst bombastic arrays of soul-crushing piano and perfectly syncopated percussion. Tortured vocals shriek through the veil of melodic splendor, while...

The poetry of SCHOLOMANCE is written to express pure emotion in a philosophical nontraditional sense of grim reality. The Iyrics are first written to stand on their own before becoming part of a musical piece. Writings of Rimbaud, Dickinson, Scriabin, and Neitzche are food for thought and written inspiration. The music of Iron Maiden, Cynic, Candiria, Dream Theater, Gorguts, Meshuggah, Voivod, Beethoven, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Arcturus, and Devil Doll weaves its way into our chambers often. As images may inspire just as equally as words and sound, the art of Bosch, Brughel, Venosa, and McKean adorns our chamber walls.

In February of 1998 SCHOLOMANCE officially signed a contract with THE END RECORDS for an October release of our CD, 'A Treatise On Love.' In part, it is a lyrical concept based upon the shattered remains of love, betrayal, and ultimate madness, all penned in a wickedly poetic manner. This cd features 9 songs with 51 minutes of musical intensity.

In 2002 the second cd was finally released. Dubbed 'The Immortality Murder' it is a double cd of immense complexity with vastly improved production quality, artwork, and the razor sharp dark technicality Scholomance is known for. One cd features the entire album with vocals and the other cd contains 5 instrumental versions of songs from the album along with 7 grand piano improvisations.
