(Admiral K'Lay Kronsei-Chang aboard the IKV Chang's Revenge II)
K'Lay allowed herself a moment of worry over the Nazgul's overall situation, and then to the officer she was sending to defend it. If the Jem'Hadar didn't kill them, there was always the chance Karg might let them die.... She knew of Karg's history and of his hot blooded feelings Concerning the United Federation of Planets. He had never made his opinions a secret, and besides, Imperial Intelligence, with whom she had a contact, knew most things about everyone, and Karg was on a "to be watched" list. Thanks to the Empire and the Federation, Pu'chim colony, Karg's family and his home, no longer existed, victims in a political Khomerex Zha. Under normal conditions, she would NOT have been allowed to send Karg, the risks too great. Indeed, if anything happened to the Nazgul as a result of Karg's actions...or even In-actions, High Command would come down like a rabid targ on them both. But these were not normal circumstances, and Karg was not only the only warrior whose ship was in the area to send, he was the best she had to send....and the Federation would be grateful to have him....if he gave his best. She believed he would, in spite of his personal feelings on the matter. She could see a rising star in him, and would give him this chance...... "Admiral?" Teven Belin's Chief Engineer, whom he had sent to assist her own personnel with the communication's problem, broke into her thoughts, his Human face breaking into a wide smile. "We've fixed the problem. You've got your long range communications back."
"MajQa'." She slapped his shoulder hard in congratulations, shoving him sideways in her eagerness to get to the console. "Get me Fleet-Admiral Cliff Bailey on Deep Space 9. I want to send him a priority encrypted message NOW." She waited and paced while the link was established. When Cliff Bailey did come on screen, he was clothed in some sort of Terran night clothes, hastily donned from the looks of him, his hair askew, his eyes not quite awake,
evidently roused by her message from a sleep shift. "Fleet-Admiral, qavanneS." She greeted him formally and gave him a few seconds to collect himself before continuing. "I am enroute to Deep Space 9 and I formally request and require you to meet me there once I arrive to discuss a matter of grave importance to our Alliance."
The USC Fleet-Admiral rubbed a hand over his face, frowning for a moment. "I was scheduled to depart from Deep Space 9 for....." He paused, deciding not to give away his destination or plans either via subspace communications or to the Klingon Admiral until he knew more about what had caused her current state of mind. She looked ready to eat battle cruisers for breakfast. "....for another mission. But I can delay it for a short time, if
necessary. Can you give me any details as to why this meeting is....requested and required?" "Is an unprovoked attack on my vor'cha by two Starfleet ships commanded by conspirators of your former Admiral Mark Zesewitz sufficient reason?!"
She snarled at him, not really annoyed with him, but for the benefit of her crew, many of whom also thirsted for Federation blood after this latest incident, and who would see any consideration to their Fleet-Admiral as a sign of weakness. Cliff looked bleak, his expressive face showing the regret she knew he felt on a number of levels. "Sufficient reason, Admiral. I will be waiting for you. When is your estimated time of arrival?"
"My ship is damaged, but I am enroute now. If there are no other incidents.... perhaps within the day. As for independent verifications, I do not know the OKUDA'S whereabouts. But her commander, Nick Castle, can verify what I will be telling you. He....." She paused as her navigator snapped a word in clipped, battle language, rerouting her attention. "Excuse me a moment, Fleet-Admiral...." She barked a request for more information in the same tongue, put the Fleet-Admiral on hold and off speaker, and waited as the navigator pointed to a small distortion on his screen.
"Incoming communications from the IKV Blood Revenge, Mistress." K'ris at Communications signalled to her. "Listen." He touched a panel on his board. She recognized Karg's voice immediately........

***TRANSMISSION FROM THE IKV BLOODS REVENGE TO THE IKV CHANG'S REVENGE II***
To: Admiral K'Lay Kronsei Chang
From:Ltjg. Karg Septaric
Admiral,
I have just reviewed scans of your immediate area, taken by us just before we made contact with you. I have discovered what I believe is a cloaked ship near your position. Since it is unlikely to be a Klingon ship, I can only conclude that it is a Romulan vessel. I have made contact with the USS Nazgul and have been informed that Romulan ships have joined in the attack on the side of the Jem'Hadar. If my observations are correct, then it is likely the romulans know that we and the Hawkeye are on our way to assist the Nazgul. I intend to
proceed as ordered unless we receive other orders from you. I am also trying to contact the Hawkeye to inform them of the possible new developments in our situation but so far I have been unsuccessful. I am transmitting the data from our scans to you for your analysis. I feel that it would be wise to contact the Mississippi and relay this information so that they can be prepared what may happen. I regret not discovering this sooner and request that you exercise extreme caution. I do not wish the crew to be distracted as we engage the Romulans. As I'm sure you are aware, they are very loyal to you and concerned for your safety as am I.

"We evidently have a Romulan escort, Fleet-Admiral." K'Lay said as she reopened full communications with Fleet-Admiral Bailey. "Do you wish me to bring him with me and lure him into range.....or is the Federation sleeping with the enemy this week?" She growled, disliking politics almost as much as Karg Septaric.
