Cotton Weary

Cotton Weary was the one who was framed by Sidney for killing her mother. He was found guilty and was going to be gassed. After Stu and Billy were discovered, he was set free. Now all he wants is a little Diane Sawyer. He wants more attention from the public. Sidney , who still doesn't like him and feels guiltly about her accusation, won't give him an interview. Though he tries hard to convince her to do it, he doesn't get her to say yes until she's being threatned by Mrs. Loomis and shoots her on the condition that Sidney gave him an interview. Finally he got the publicity he wanted, and became a hero.

LIEV SCHREIBER appears in a brief cameo in SCREAM, when Cotton Weary is glimpsed on a newscast. In SCREAM 2, however, Cotton is back on the street and in the thick of the action. "He's trying to put his life together," said Schreiber, "and that means revisiting some of the ghosts of Woodsboro." Schreiber first came to notice receiving critical acclaim in such independent films as "The Daytrippers," "Walking and Talking" and "Party Girl." He is starring in five upcoming features including Barry Levinson's "Sphere," "Phantoms" with Ben Affleck and "Jakob The Liar" opposite Robin Williams, which is currently in production in Hungary. Born in New York, Schreiber studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Yale School of Drama.
