Read the article here. [news source - SC.Org]

New Customs Section
SC.Org has opened a new custom section that sounds pretty cool. To make this easy on myself I'm just going to copy paste the announcement:

StarCraft.Org is proud to announce the opening of our brand new customs section. This is run by Mr.Book and Mr.Sleep, who were both trained by King Arthur of Camelot Systems. They will be releasing their own customs made with StarDraft, and in the near future, accepting user-submitted customs, and releasing tutorials to help you in designing your own customs.

"So just what is a custom?" I hear you ask. Well, they are custom designed modifications for StarCraft or StarEdit that allow you to add new units, buildings, spells, graphics and much more. Go check out the customs section for more info, and SC.org's first custom...

Battle.net Proxy Daemon
Here's a new patch regarding proxy's and Diablo v1.07. I don't really know if this is from Blizzard or just worded weird in the disclaimer. Anyway, thanks to Wargasm over at Integrity for putting it up and I hope it helps. And btw, Happy Birthday Wargy!! Hope you have a great one! :)

This is a reference implementation of a proxy server which will allow players whose machines are located behind a firewall, NAT, or IP Masquerading gateway to play games on Battle.net. This is probably not the fastest nor the most robust implementation possible; rather, it is intended to act as a guide so that those who are in the business of developing network proxy agents can integrate Battle.net support into their products. Although we welcome your comments and bug reports, Blizzard Entertainment cannot offer support for this software.

The New 2 Minte Rule
Apparantly complaints about the new 2 min rule are running rampant allready. Blizzards Rob Pardo (EnoYls) explains their reasons for changing it here. He's got a good point, give it a chance before you throw a fit.

On the New Maps
The new maps were just released and people are allready complaining. I find this sad since Blizz didn't have to include any new maps at all. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. If you don't like the new maps, hey don't play them. Here's a post by Zileas, he doesn't like them and he hasn't even played them. (go figure) and here's a post by [9]Agent911, being the voice of reason. Rob Pardo (EnoYls) responds on the changes to the Green Valleys map here. (give em hell Rob!)

Surprise! Blizzard has released a 3rd scm. Acropolis is an official Ladder Map so be sure to grab it! It's a 192x192 Jungle World for 2-6 players. Print the Enlarged Map View now! Here's the teaser : Get enlarged view

Recent explorations have uncovered a previously uncharted island on the jungle planet of Ynoth. Located at the center of this island are six massive citadels surrounding the ruins of a seventh. This has caused a stir amongst the Shelak tribe as the Protoss seer Khyar wrote several cryptic passages concerning an mystic Acropolis referred to "The Six and The One". While it written in his works that, "...the ruler of the Six shall use the One to become the Only..." Khyar was also called the Mad Prophet in more than one historical record. Whether this power is real or merely legend, there is a great deal of interest in controlling this island as well as the ancient citadels. Download it now! (144k)

Something a little funny, here's a post in the forums that makes you wonder, WAS it supposed to be a 3 scm week, or just an OOPs !
