Spring break! - so eagerly awaited, so quickly consumed!
I was not going to be able to fully enjoy the break until I got closure on a 7-month-long project: preparing a portfolio for consideration for National Board certification, the latest hoop for professional educators. “The BOX,” as it is so affectionately known among my family and friends, was shipped by UPS on Saturday, so let the spring break begin!
Monday some Sherlockians from the Hansom Wheels scion of the Baker Street Irregulars drove over from Columbia to judge some projects submitted by local middle schoolers. Winners were selected and notified. I’ll post more about them and their projects later.
Tuesday we had practice round tickets to the Masters.
The weather was gorgeous.
As usual, I had to be a part of Arnie’s Army.
Wednesday I drove to Summerville, SC, to watch my future daughter-in-heart have her wedding portrait photographed. She is truly beautiful, both inside and out. I snapped several pictures myself, but I promised I wouldn’t post any here til after the wedding in July! Afterward she and her mom and aunt and cousin joined me for tea at The Woodlands. It was a very pleasant afternoon.
Monte and I met in Charleston later that afternoon and drove over to Wild Dunes to visit with Aunt Charlotte and my cousins. We had a delicious family meal; cousin Tricia is quite a chef! The next morning cousin Bob took us on a tour of the Carolinian, a luxurious yacht that he captains. We didn’t have as much time as we would have liked in downtown Charleston (do we ever?), and soon it was time to head home.
