i wrote this for two friends dealing with the death of their mothers
Life Support (or mothers)
mom, ma, mother, or mommy,
they all mean the same thing,
names they can be broken down to two words,
unconditional,
and love...
unconditional love is what a mom is to me,
u are born unto them,
or adoped by them (like the author),
they raise u,
and take care of u,
hug u when u hurt,
and kiss u when u have bad dreams.
they watch your first steps,
catch u when u fall,
and this happens for all of your life,
not just toddling around in diapers,
but as u journey through life.
when u learn to walk they let u try,
and when u fall they pick u up,
and they encourage u to try again.
then u get older and start dating,
(feeling the new mothers cringe at this thought),
and your first crush,
and your first heartbreak,
mom is there to help u pick up the pieces.
she cries when u move to college,
and when u marry,
not tears of sadness,
but tears of joy,
proud of what u accomplish,
and that u have grown,
into a man,
or into a woman.
the children grow into adults,
and the adults become parents,
and mom is just a phone call away,
to answer your questions,
and to share your joy of your own child's accomplishments.
mothers r there for u when u need them,
and as a return of their caring,
u take care of them when they need it,
love mom back unconditionally...
mom, ma, mother, or mommy,
they all mean the same thing,
names they can be broken down to two words,
unconditional,
and love...
unconditional love
