Sunday Night Heat - to air January 9
Val Venis pinned Prince Albert in a decent match. Bossman came down to ringside, and when Albert was whipped into the ropes, Bossman mistakenly hit him in the lower back with the night stick, allowing Venis to score the win.
Steve Blackman beat Seth Quartermaine, Blackman got a really good pop, and won a decent match with his thrust kick to the chest.
The Acolytes cut a promo saying they would destroy the NAO at the Rumble. They said they had two words for DX, "ass kicking".
Too Cool beat the Headbangers with the Tennesee Jam from the top rope. Both teams hit their normal offense. Taylor did the worm to a huge reaction. The Bangers turned full heel by destroying Too Cool after the match.
Godfather beat Gangrel with the Pimp Drop. Luna came down about halfway through, and chased the ho's away, but then accidentally misted Gangrel, leading to the pin.
Smackdown - to air January 6
Triple H and Stephanie were shown saying Xpac would be facing Big Show. Xpac got upset, but then HHH said "If I beat him, you can beat him".
Show loses via DQ for shoving the ref. Very short match. Show punches a chair into Xpac's face, and delivers a chokeslam. He also chokeslammed at least one ref, as 10 or so came to the ring.
The Hollys beat Jericho and Chyna. Chyna refused to tag in during the match, and left Jericho to get beaten by both Hollys, and walked off after he was pinned.
HHH and Stephanie ordered Gunn to go into a handicap match with the Acolytes. It went a few minutes, with the Acolytes destroying Gunn, when Road Dog ran in, and all 4 men brawled into the crowd, causing a no contest.
HHH and Stephanie ordered the Road Dog to face Kane. Tori had asked to use the restroom in The Helmsley office, and Stephanie said OK. Then Road Dog entered the office looking for HHH. Steph said she was in the bathroom. Road Dog walks in on Tori, and Kane demanded a match with "The pervert", and got it.
Despite attempted distractions by Xpac, Kane managed to win with a chokeslam on the Road Dog, for a clean pin in a short match.
Kurt Angle beat the Rock via DQ. Both men cut lengthy promos before the match. The Rock was over beyond beleif, and Angle has a ton of heel heat. A good match, with lots of offense for both men. Blackman comes to the ring, and Rocky steals the Kendo stick, and nails him, then nails Angle. Ref DQ's the Rock, and Angle's undefeated streak continues. Rock gives Blackman the Rock Bottom. He comes back to the ring, nails Angle with a spinebuster, and the people's elbow.
Edge/Christian/Jeff Hardy defeated Dudleys/Snow.
Good brawl, with the high flyers all doing their trademark moves. Edge gets the pin on Dvon with the downward spiral. After the match, Snow takes out both Dudley Boyz with head.
Test came out to a huge pop, which is good, since he's lost some heat since the wedding angle. Bossman generates huge heel heat. Test dominated most of the match, and wins when Prince Albert's interference backfired. Test and Albert get into a shoving match after the match, although I'm not sure if that part will air.
They hold a lottery drawing to see who will face Triple H for the belt. All the wrestlers are in the back. HHH draws Andre The Giants name, and is annoyed. Then Moolah's name is next. HHH says the match would be one for the "ages", but not interested. He tells the Fink to draw a name, and Finkel trips over the lottery basket, and picks Rakishi's name off the floor. Rakishi gets out of his chair, and all the wrestlers chant his name. The crowd in Orlando goes wild, and chants his name as well.
World Title : Rakishi vs HHH
Rakishi dominates most of this match, and hits the splash, the banzai drop, and a wicked belly to belly on Triple H. Stephanie was doing commentary, and gave Triple H a chair to use, which he did. Phatu escaped the Pedigree by using a back drop, and Stephanie gives HHH a the title belt, he uses it and is Dq'ed.
Rakishi is way, way over. Too Cool came down after the match, and danced with him, to send the crowd home happy.
