"...so please hand me the bottle, I think I'm lonely now - and please give me direction, I think the hurt set in..."

3 A.M.

not really an interpretation, just some random thoughts...

7/5/00

I was listening to "Yourself or Someone Like You" again... In "3 AM", there's a line that says, "she says it's all gonna end and it might as well be my fault". For the longest time, I thought he said, "she says it's autumn again and it might as well be my fall." It makes sense to me that way. Only in the past couple months have I realised that he wasn't saying what I thought he was.

This is the biggest problem with creativity. Whose line is it anyway? Is it Rob Thomas'? Or is it mine? Or is it both of ours?

"She says it's autumn again and it might as well be my fall." I want to write a poem about it. But is it enough mine to use it? I could write the poem and give credit to Rob Thomas, for the inspiration.
