This was another one of my favourite books from when I was in middle school. This is what it's about, (I took this from amazon.com):
After Miss Dixon fails to show up for school one day, the children come up with all sorts of far-out theories to explain her disappearance, but Eliza is determined to find her favorite teacher.
The prolific author of Winter Dreams, Christmas Love, Kate's Book, and more than 60 other novles for young readers, presents a warm, sensitive mystery about a friendly teacher who disappears and a young girl's determination to find her.
I read this book several times before I lost it. I wish I could get another copy, but I haven't been able to find it. I believe that it's out of print right now. When I was in middle school, I cared more about what my teachers thought of me than what other kids though. Come to think of it, I'm STILL like that! I really wanted my teachers to like me, and I wanted to be friends with certain ones. I've written to some of my teachers since I've left their classes. There are some that I haven't been able to write to, but I wish I could.
Sometimes, I'm not sure that teachers realise how much they mean to their students. It's true that all kids don't admire their teachers; some don't even respect them. But there are kids out there that have a teacher or two that they love and want to impress. This book brings out this admiration; that's why I love it so much.
