52 SOUP AND SANDWICH SUGGESTIONS FOR LUNCH

Add a beverage and an individual container of diced fruit or piece of fresh fruit to each lunch menu suggestion.

1. With your Fish Sticks sandwich you could have Tuna Chowder.

2. With your Roast Beef, Cream Cheese, and Guacamole sandwich, you could have French Onion soup. Spread the Guacamole Dip on one slice of bread, put the roast beef slices over it. Then spread softened cream cheese on the other slice of bread. Put the two slices of bread together. For French Onion soup, add dehydrated onions to beef broth, sprinkle top of soup with shredded cheese.

3. With your Toasted Cheese Sandwich you could have Cream of Tomato with basil soup. Add some dried basil to a can of tomato soup and a can of heavy cream or milk.

4. With your Chicken Sandwich you could have Chicken Noodle soup.

5. With your Turkey Bacon and Cheese sandwich you could have Chunky Vegetables soup.

6 With your Turkey Breast and Cranberry Sauce sandwich you could have Turkey and Wild Rice soup.

7. With your Salmon Salad sandwich you could have Salmon Stew. Salmon Stew is a can of boneless, skinless salmon mashed up with a pint of heavy cream, salt, pepper, and half a stick of butter.
To your Salmon Salad recipe, add one diced apple and one Tablespoon lemon or lime juice. People who hate seafood usually will love this salad, as the apple and lemon or lime juice gives it a whole new flavor.

8. With Egg Salad sandwiches you could have Vegetable Soup.

9. With toasted BLTs (turkey bacon, lettuce, and tomato), you could have Beef Stew, made from a package of precooked beef tips with sauce, beef broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, chunky potatoes, carrots, and sweet onions.

10. With sliced bananas and peanut butter sandwiches, you could have Chicken and Rice soup.

11. With sliced tomatoes on whole wheat bread, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper, you could have Bean Soup.

12. With a Philly Steak and Cheese Sandwich, you could have a cup of Beef Broth.

13. With a Beef Hot Dog, you could have Chili with Beans.

14. With a Hamburger, you could have Gazpacho. For a quick Gazpacho, add one can chilled V-8 to finely diced cucumbers, onions, celery, and tomatoes with a dash of Cha Sriracha sauce.

15. With a Sliced Pineapple and Cream Cheese Sandwich, you could have Pureed Cold Cantaloupe Soup.

16. With a Sliced Tomato and Cheese Sandwich, you could have any flavored Ramen Noodles Soup.

17. With Sloppy Joes, you could have Cheddar Cheese Soup.

18. With a Toasted Chicken Salad sandwich on Raisin Bread, you could have Magic Potatoes soup. The raisin bread gives a chicken salad sandwich a whole new flavor. Magic Potatoes is cooked diced potatoes, 1/2 stick butter, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.

19. With a Spam Turkey and mustard/mayo sandwich you could have Broccoli and Cheese soup.

20. With Tacos, you could have Fiesta Corn Chowder with a touch of lime.

21. With Meatball Subs, you could have Pasta Fajoulie soup.

22. With Quesadillas, you could have Nacho Cheese Soup with tortilla chips.

23. With Pizza or Calzones, you could have Minnestrone soup.

24. With sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese, whole fresh basil leaves, and sliced tomatoes on bread, you could have Progresso Lentil Soup. Add a glass of V-8 as a beverage. Try eating cornbread in Lentil Soup instead of crackers. Add a 4 oz. cup of applesauce for dessert.

25. With a Barbeque Beef sandwich with cole slaw on it, you could have Cream of Mushroom soup.

26. With a Neuchatel cream cheese, crushed pineapple, and chopped pecans sandwich, you could have Cream of Roasted Red Pepper soup which is a pint of heavy cream with a jar of pureed roasted red peppers, salt, and pepper with a dash of cayenne.

27. With a Sliced Vidalia Onion on Dijon mustard/mayo sandwich, you could have Hot and Sour soup which is chicken broth, sesame oil, soy sauce, lime juice, and tabasco sauce.

28. With an Eggroll, you could have Eggdrop Soup. You can buy frozen eggrolls in at least half a dozen varieties. Eggdrop Soup is chicken broth, sesame oil, soy sauce, brought to a boil, then stir in one beaten egg with a fork. For Chinese Noodles fry some strips of eggroll wrappers in hot oil.

29. With a Nutella and Marshmallow Cream sandwich, you could have Pureed Cold Fruit soup which could be any chilled fruit combinations you like pureed in a blender with lemon, orange, or lime juice added to suit your taste.

30. With a Chickpea Salad sandwich, you could have Butternut Squash Soup.

31. With a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you could have Chicken and Stars soup.

32. With a Fluffer-Nutter sandwich (peanut butter on one slice of bread, marshmallow cream on the other slice, then put together,) you could have Cream of Banana soup, (heavy cream, a container of vanilla yogurt, mixed and poured over sliced bananas in a bowl, then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.)

33. With a Pimento Cheese sandwich, you could have Tomato Soup.

34. With a Fried Vegetables Po-Boy, you could have Cream of Potatoes soup.

35. With a Fried Cubed Steak Po-Boy, you could have Vegetable Beef Soup.

36. With Chicken Tortilla Soup, (cooked chicken, tomatoes, corn, rice, and green peppers in seasoned chicken broth with Fritos or tortilla chips and grated cheese sprinkled over the top,) you could have either Cheese or Chicken Enchiladas.

37. With Cream of Avocado Soup, you could have Nut Burgers. You can make any kind of nut burgers by pulverizing 2 cups nuts in a food processor, adding 1 egg and 1 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch, and any seasonings or spices you want for flavor. Shape into patties and fry in hot oil until brown on both sides. Use as you would any hamburger pattie. You could also do this with mashed beans to make Bean Patties. Canned Salmon or Chicken can be used in the same way. To make a quick and easy Cream of Avocado Soup, use a container of Guacamole Dip and dilute it with Half 'n' Half milk until it is the consistency you want. You can chill it until time to serve.

38. With an all-beef-Bologna sandwich, you could have Golden Mushroom Soup.

39. With a slice of cooked roast beef, pickles, and onions with BBQ sauce sandwich, you could have Vegetable Beef soup.

40. With any frozen Panini, you could have Italian Wedding Soup.

41. With Cucumber and Cream Cheese sandwiches, you could have Black Bean with Vegetables Soup.

42. With a toasted turkey bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich you could have a 12 oz. can of chilled low-sodium V8 and some fresh fruit.

43. With a Croque Madame or Messieur sandwich, you could have a cup of Turkey Noodle Soup.

44. With a Corned Beef with mustard sandwich, you could have Cabbage Soup.

45. With a cooked boneless, skinless Chicken Breast on Raisin Bread sandwich, you could have Cream of Asparagus Soup.

46. With an Open Faced Roast Beef and Gravy Sandwich you could have a cup of Cream of Potato Soup.

47. With Bean and Cheese Burritos, you could have Pinto Bean Soup.

48. With a sliced pineapple and mayonnaise sandwich, you could have Thai Coconut Pineapple Soup which is Coconut milk, crushed pineapple, ginger, and curry powder.

49. With a Muffalatta (large bun with slices of Provolone, Swiss, and American cheeses, turkey, roast beef, and beef bologna on it with olive spread,) you could have your favorite Chili with Beans.

50. With a Ribeye Steak sandwich, you could have Campbell's Steak 'n' Potatoes soup.

51. With a Lemon Chicken sandwich, you could have Lemon Chicken Soup. Cook a boneless skinless lemon chicken breast for each sandwich needed. 52. With a Fig and Hazelnut Jam sandwich, you could have Tuscany Cannellini Soup. Use 2 cups sugar to 1 cup water mixed in a pot. Bring to a boil. Add 1/2 cup chopped figs. Turn off heat and let steep for five minutes. Puree the figs and syrup in a food processor. Add 1 cup chopped hazelnuts and process until smooth. Toast sliced baguettes at 375 degrees for 5 minutes. Spread the jam mixture on top of the bread slices. For the soup, put 2 Tbsp. olive oil and 2 Tbsp. butter in a pot. Saute 2 chopped shallots. Add 2 cans cooked Cannellini beans, 2 cans low-sodium chicken broth, 4 cloves garlic cut in half, 1 fresh sage leaf torn into 4 pieces, salt and pepper to suit tastes. Cook for 10 minutes. Turn off heat and add 1/2 cup heavy cream. Using an immersion blender, puree the soup and serve.
