HOMEMADE CAR WINDSHIELD DE-ICER SPRAY
Make your own homemade car de-icing windshield spray by using 91% Isopropyl Alcohol in a clean empty Frebreeze spray bottle. Alcohol does not freeze. Or you can spray your car windows and car windshield every night with a strong mixture of white vinegar to avoid ice forming on them during the night. You will need to use a cleaning white vinegar or else the vinegar will only keep ice from forming when the temps drop down to 28 degrees.

If your home has pests, buy Ortho Home Defense Max Spray at Home Depot, Walmart, or on Amazon.com, and spray inside and outside to kill them for up to a year. Make sure you spray all your baseboards, around all windows and doors, and thresholds.

To simply repel pests, buy pure peppermint oil, and mix a capful in a spray bottle filled with water, and spray it everywhere inside and outside your home. None of them seem to like the fragrance of peppermint oil. This needs to be done every few days as the scent wears off. This mixture will also repel lizards if you spray if often around your doorways and windows.

Bedbugs die instantly when sprayed with a mixture of 1 part Dawn Original Dishwashing Liquid and 5 parts water.

If your neighbors' pests try to invade your home, sprinkle cayenne pepper everywhere in your yard between your house and theirs to repel them.

If your dishwasher or washing machine gets too much soap in it and begins to run over with suds, pour in vinegar and liquid fabric softener until it stops. Allow it to run its full cycle, then repeat without any additional detergent being added. The vinegar and the liquid fabric softener acts as a defoamer. You can also buy Liquid Defoamer where carpet cleaners are rented and use it to do the same thing.

Use your crockpot to make a fragrant batch of spicy holiday potpourri. To a pot of hot water, add as much of the following spices as you want: cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, cardamom, orange peel, orange oil, lemon oil, lemon peel, lime peel, Indian Spice Chai Original teabags or Spice Chai teabags, and Constant Comment teabags. Keep it stirred and simmering on high and your home will smell absolutely wonderful all day long.

To get rid of garlic breath, chew on a coffee bean, a fresh sprig of parsley, or, using your entire tongue, lick a piece of stainless steel to remove the offensive breath odor.

Want to make your cheap candles dripless? Simply soak your candles in heavily salted water overnight, then dry them off with a paper towel. Store and use them as needed.

You can also freeze your candles overnight to make them dripless.

One envelope of Knox Unflavored Gelatin mixed with a little warm water can be used as a facial masque. Smooth it on the face and neck and let it dry, then wash off with warm water for tighter skin.

Another collagen booster is Vitamin C. Crush some Vitamin C tablets and mix with water. Pat this all over your face, then let it air dry. Wash your face with warm water and pat dry. You can buy Ascorbic Acid in powder form at your local herb store and use it instead of having to crush the Vitamin C tablets, since Ascorbic Acid is Vitamin C.

If you have psoriasis, lay in a tanning bed daily for 10 to 20 minutes to help heal the lesions. UVL treatments at a dermatologist's office are very expensive and tanning beds do about the same thing for much less money. Take 2000 IU Vitamin D3 supplements every six hours or four times a day if you can't use a tanning bed.

If your marshmallows get hard before you use them up, try placing a slice of loaf bread in the package with them to keep them soft.

Place a whole unpeeled apple in a bag of potatoes to keep them from sprouting eyes longer.

Place a slice of bread in your opened bag of brown sugar to keep it soft.

When cleaning the barbeque grill, spray it with Oven Spray, then wipe it off with balled up aluminum foil for easy clean up. Then be sure to rinse it well with a warm damp cloth.

If you need to save calories when breading something, dip it in beaten eggwhites then in crushed cornflakes and bake it instead of frying it in oil.

Try using the same amount of chicken broth or beef broth in rice or couscous, instead of water for a richer flavor. You can purchase dry Egg Pastini much cheaper than couscous, and it looks, cooks, and tastes the same.

You can bread chicken, turkey, fish or meat in any prepared mustard then in finely crushed nuts and bake it.

Use some rubbing alcohol to get grass stains out of fabric before washing it in the laundry.

Blood can be removed from fabric by using hydrogen peroxide before laundering it.

A mild bleach and detergent solution in warm water will kill mildew. For stubborn stains, use a brush on them.

Rub Kyolic Odorless garlic liquid into a bald spot every day and begin seeing new hair growth in about three months. Keep massaging it in daily, if you want it to grow.

Beer conditions and sets the hair.

Boiled lemon juice, then cooled and put into a spray bottle can substitute for hair spray in an emergency hair situation.

Use a pink foam hair roller core placed in an empty 35mm film can and fill with nail polish remover. Place the nail tips inside the middle of the hair roller and move them around to remove fingernail polish quickly. Cover it when not being used.

PAM cooking spray will dry fingernail polish.

Cool Whip will condition your hair in 15 minutes.

Mayonnaise will kill lice; it will also condition your hair.

Elmer's Glue - Paint it on your face, allow it to dry, peel off and see the dead skin and blackheads if you have any.

Want Shiny Hair - Use brewed Lipton Tea as a final hair rinse. Use black tea for dark hair.

Blonde hair rinsed with lemon juice will make it blonder.

Spray dry hair with pure lemon juice before going out in the sun to lighten your hair.

Sunburn - Empty a jar of Nestea into your tepid bath water to relieve pain of sunburn. Or soak regular teabags in water and lay them on the sunburned areas.

Minor Burns - Rub on some Colgate or Crest toothpaste.

Burn your tongue? Cut yourself? Put sugar on it!

Cut needs sutures but you cannot afford to go to the Emergency Room? Bind the cut skin together with Super Glue Gel.

Paper Cut - Apply Crazy Glue Gel or Chapstick. (Super Glue Gel is used instead of sutures at most hospitals.)

Arthritis? Apply WD-40 Spray on painful joints, and rub in. Soothes insect stings also.

Bee Stings - Sprinkle on some Meat Tenderizer and moisten it with water.

For any insect bites, just rub a bar of soap on them to stop the itch fast.

Chigger Bites - Rub on Preparation H.

Puffy Eyes - Rub on Preparation H.

Stinky Feet - Dissolve some Jello in warm water and soak the feet for 15 minutes or soak feet in tomato juice.

Someone get sprayed by a skunk? Soak in a bathtub full of tomato juice for half an hour and then take a normal bath to remove the stinky odor. Or use vinegar if you want to save your tomato juice for drinking.

Athletes Feet - Sprinkle on cornstarch.

Fungus on toenails or fingernails - Rub on Vicks Vapor Rub.

Muscle Pain - Rub on Vicks Vapor Rub.

To stop a cough - Rub Vicks Vapor Rub in the hollow of your throat.

Kool Aid will clean the dishwasher's interior. Just put in the detergent section and run a cycle, it will also clean a toilet.

Kool Aid or Cocoa powder can be used as a hair dye. Mix either with your hair conditioner and leave on hair for an hour before rinsing it off.

Kool Aid can be used as a dye in paint.

Kool Aid in plain yogurt can be used as a finger paint, your kids will love it and it won't hurt them if they eat it!

Peanut Butter will get scratches off CD's! So will toothpaste. Wipe it off with a coffee filter paper.

White toothpaste rubbed on minor scratches will often remove the scratch on cars.

Peanut Butter will remove chewing gum from hair.

Denture tablets will clean a toilet. Drop in 2 of them and let soak overnite.

Sticking bicycle chain - Use PAM cooking spray.

PAM will remove paint and grease from your hands! Keep a can and some paper towels in your garage for your family to use.

Peanut Butter will remove ink from the face of dolls.

Rubbing Alcohol will remove ballpoint pen ink.

When doll clothes are hard to put on, sprinkle with cornstarch and watch them slide on easily.

Got heavy dandruff? Pour on a cup of vinegar as a final hair rinse after shampooing then rinsing!

Body Paint - Crisco shortening mixed with food coloring. Heat the Crisco in the microwave, pour in an empty jar and mix with the food color of your choice until you get the color you want!

Make your own lip balm by mixing Petroleum Jelly and your favorite extract or powdered Kool Aid to get the desired flavor.

Tie Dye a Tee-shirt - Mix a strong solution of Kool Aid in a container, place rubber bands around several sections of the Tee-shirt and soak. Wring out the Tee-shirt after soaking for one hour. Leave the rubber bands on the shirt and hang outside to dry thoroughly before removing the rubber bands. Make sure you place some newspapers or paper towels under the shirt to catch any drips.

To preserve a newspaper clipping - Mix one large bottle of club soda and one cup of milk of magnesia, soak newspaper clipping for 20 minutes and let dry. It will last for many years!

A new Slinky toy can be used to hold toast, mail, bills, or CD's!

To keep mirrors, windows, car windows, goggles, and eyeglasses from fogging up, clean them with Colgate toothpaste or Barbasol shaving cream.

Barbasol shaving cream (original formula) is a great spot cleaner for carpets or clothes.

Use baking soda mixed with table salt in equal amounts to brush your teeth occasionally to remove stains and plaque.

Use empty paper towel tubes to hold electric cords or wrap up Christmas lights when not needed, one per tube.

Wine stains - Pour on table salt and watch the wine stain absorb into the salt or use Club Soda to clean the stain immediately, patting it off gently, never rubbing.

To remove wax - Take a paper towel and iron it over the wax stain, it will get absorbed into the paper towel.

When blowing out lit candles, hold your index finger in front of the candle before blowing so the wax don't get blown all over the place or use a candle snuffer.

To remove adhesive labels from glassware etc. rub with Peanut Butter!

Baked on foods - Fill the pot, dish, or pan with water, get a Bounce Fabric Softener Sheet and put it into the water. The Bounce Sheet will cause the baked on food to adhere to it when soaked overnight. Also, you can use 2 denture tablets and soak in water overnight! Or add vinegar to the soaking water for an hour or so, to loosen burned on foods.

Crayon marks on the wall - Colgate toothpaste and brush them off! WD-40 will also remove heel marks on floors.

Dirty tile grout - Listerine mouthwash or bleach

Stains on clothes - Colgate toothpaste or Barbasol shaving cream

Grass Stains - clear Karo Syrup

Grease Stains - Coca Cola will remove grease stains from the driveway overnight. Also will remove corrosion from car batteries!

Fleas in your carpeting? 20 Mule Team Borax - sprinkle and let stand for 24 hours, then vaccuum. It's the borax powder that works.

To make fresh flowers last longer, add a tablespoon bleach to the water, or 2 aspirin, or just use 7-Up instead of water.

When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered which is the freshest, so you squeeze for freshness?
Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week?
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Each day has a different colored twist tie.
The colors are:
Monday = Blue
Tuesday = Green
Thursday = Red
Friday = White
Saturday = Yellow
So if today were Thursday, you would want a red twist tie, not white one which is Friday (meaning the bread would be almost a week old).
For ease of remembrance, the colors go alphabetically, Blue - Green - Red - White - Yellow, Monday through Saturday, minus Wednesday and Sunday.

Drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately, without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional pain relievers.

Did you know that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns? Vinegar can be splashed on a burn for relief too.

Before you head to the drugstore for a high priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of strong Altoids peppermints. They'll clear up your stuffed nose. Or try eating a bite of horseradish.

You can also dab some mayonnaise on a blemish or a dab of white toothpaste and it should be gone in the morning. Visine rubbed onto a blemish will take the red out of it in about ten minutes so it can be camouflaged with concealer.

Balm for broken blisters - To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Listerine, a powerful antiseptic. Or apply some 3% hydrogen peroxide and let it bubble to kill germs.

If you are around cold or flu germs, gargle in 3% hydrogen peroxide, then use a Q-tip with peroxide on it and clean out your ears and nose to kill off any germs you might have inhaled. This will protect you if done at the onset.

For IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome, drink a cup of double strength peppermint tea as often as you need it for relief.

Always take 3 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar before going out to eat at a restaurant to avoid getting ptomaine poisoning. This works for any type foods you are not sure of eating, like picnics or family reunions or church homecomings.

If you do get food poisoned, take 3 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar and the cramps should stop. If not, take another 3 Tbsp. and if that don't work, get to the Emergency Room of the hospital quickly to have your stomach pumped. The vinegar usually will work though.

Kills fleas instantly. Dawn Dishwashing Liquid does the trick. Add a few drops to your pet's bath and shampoo the animal thoroughly. Rinse well to avoid skin irritations. Goodbye fleas!

Rainy day cure for pet odor - Next time your pet comes in from the rain, simply wipe down the animal with Bounce or any fabric softener dryer sheet, instantly making your pet smell fresher.

Eliminate ear mites - All it takes is a few drops of olive oil in your pet's ears. Massage it in, then clean with a cotton ball or Q-tip. Repeat daily for 3 days. The olive oil soothes the pet's skin, smothers the ear mites, and accelerates healing.

Make callouses disappear by rubbing them with Vick's Vapor Rub.

Got a backache? - Mix some meat tenderizer with some water and rub it where it hurts for relief.

Wrinkles respond to the inside of a banana peeling. Safer than Botox. Scrape it off and apply it like a facial. Leave on for thirty minutes then rinse off with warm water.

When it's really cold outside, wear a pair of latex gloves underneath your winter gloves for extra warmth.

You can also soak your feet in any leftover cooked oatmeal for 15 minutes then wash it off for soft, smooth feet.

Grow the largest tomatoes in your neighborhood by adding nonfat dry milk powder to your water. The tomatoes love the calcium and will grow huge.

Got a dead car battery? - You can revive it one last time by placing two aspirin in the battery and you should be on your way. Be sure to buy a new battery.

Want to fry fish but hate the after-odor? - Add some lemon juice to your oil when frying the fish, and there will be no lingering odor later.

Mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and cream of tartar to dissolve any stain.

Mix 3 parts water to 1 part white vinegar in a spray bottle and spray your wrinkled clothes as they come out of the dryer. Hang them up on hangers, and the wrinkles will fall right out without ironing them.

Dab some ammonia on mosquito bites for instant relief.

Frost Free Windshields:
Vinegar will help keep windshields ice and frost-free in the wintertime. When a car has to be left outside overnight in the winter, wipe the front and back windshields and side windows with a solution of 3 parts White Distilled Vinegar to 1 part water with a clean cloth.

Cleaning Your Microwave:
Clean and freshen your microwave oven by boiling Distilled White Vinegar and water in it. Mix 1/4 cup White Vinegar and 1 cup water in a microwavable bowl. Heat for 5 minutes on high. This will remove lingering odors and soften baked on food spatters so they can be easily wiped away with a damp cloth.

Kill Grass in the Driveway or Sidewalks:
Pour any full strength vinegar on any grass that is growing in the cracks of the driveway or sidewalk to kill it.

Laundry Booster:
Boost your laundry detergent's power by adding 1 cup White Vinegar to the wash cycle.

Floor Cleaner:
Add 1 cup White Vinegar to your bucket of mop water to clean your floors and help remove any soap film left on them.

Carpet Spray:
Instead of buying those expensive cans of high traffic spray carpet cleaner, try using a can of Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and running a clean broom over it. Dollar General sells a can of it cheaper than any other store.

Glass and Mirror Cleaner:
Make your own glass and mirror cleaner by filling a spray bottle with 3 Tablespoons ammonia, 1 Tablespoon White Distilled Vinegar, and water.

Under-the-Cabinet Lights:
Need more lighting underneath your kitchen, bathroom, or workshop cabinets? Use clear Christmas light strands held in place with wide clear packaging tape up under the bottom of the cabinets.

Buy those peel and stick lights and stick them up underneath your cabinets if you need extra lighting in your kitchen. They also make good emergency lights if your electricity goes off.

Try using chicken stock to cook rice or couscous with instead of water to give them better flavor.

Making Homemade Chicken Soup:
Place a clean half of an egg shell in your pot of chicken soup to keep from having to skim off the dark foam as much.
