4 cups Carnation nonfat dried milk
1-1/2 cups Argo cornstarch
1 cup Croydon House chicken soup powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. black pepper
Combine all ingredients until mixed well. Label and keep mixture stored in a capped jar in your cabinet.
To make your own homemade creamed soups, combine 1/2 cup dry creamed soup mixture, 1-1/2 cups cold water, and 1 Tbsp. butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, while stirring. Add any of the following ingredients to customize it, or use your creative imagination to make others.
If you want to make a smooth creamed soup, make sure the ingredients are all pureed in a blender on high, but never fill a blender over 1/2 to 3/4 full.
If you like some texture to your creamed soups, just don't puree the ingredients.
Cream of Artichoke Soup: Add 1 small jar chopped artichokes
Cream of Asparagus Soup: Add 1/2 cup cooked and chopped asparagus
Cream of Avocado Soup: Add one peeled and pureed avocado
Cream of Broccoli Soup: Add 1/2 cup cooked chopped broccoli
Cream of Broccoli and Cheese Soup: Add 1/2 cup cooked chopped broccoli and 1/2 cup grated cheese
Cream of Carrots Soup: Add 1/2 cup cooked diced carrots
Cream of Celery Soup: Add 1/2 cup cooked diced celery
Cream of Cheese Soup: Add 1 cup any grated cheese
Cream of Chicken Soup: Add 1/2 cup cooked, diced chicken
Cream of Chicken and Dumplings Soup: Add 1/2 cup cooked, diced chicken and 1 package cooked Vigo Gnocchi
Cream of White Corn Soup: Add 1 can creamed white corn and 1 tsp. dried basil
Cream of Yellow Corn Soup: Add 1 can creamed yellow corn and 1 tsp. dried basil with a drop of key lime extract in each bowl in the center just before serving the soup
Cream of Crab Soup: Add 1 cup cooked crabmeat, 1/2 cup grated cheese, 1 tsp. dry mustard, and 1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning
Cream of Eggdrop Soup: Add 1 beaten egg to soup and 1 tsp. sesame oil and 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
Cream of Eggplant Soup: Add 1 cup diced, cooked eggplant
Cream of Herbs Soup: Add up to 1 tsp. favorite dried herbs, or 1 Tbsp. fresh herbs
Cream of Lavender Soup: Add 1 Tbsp. pulverized culinary lavender
Cream of Lemon Soup: Add 1 packet True Lemon powder or 1 tsp. lemon extract and 1 Tbsp. lemon zest
Cream of Lime Soup: Add 1 packet True Lime powder or 1 tsp. lime extract and 1 Tbsp. lime zest
Cream of Lobster Soup: Add 1 cup cooked lobster, 1/2 cup grated cheese, 1 tsp. dry mustard, and 1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning
Cream of Mushroom Soup: Add 4 oz. jar drained, sliced mushrooms
Cream of Onion Soup: Add 1/2 cup diced cooked onions
Cream of Orange Soup: Add 1 Tbsp. orange zest and 1 tsp. orange extract or 1 packet True Orange powder
Cream of Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme Soup: Add 1/2 tsp. each dried herb, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
Cream of Potatoes Soup: Add 1 cup cooked diced potatoes
