Have some family outdoor games like basketball, football, softball, horseshoes, volleyball, badminton, or croquet that people can enjoy. Have some games for all ages attending so all of you can have some fun. Trivia games are fun for adults and teenagers. Divide into teams. Have some inexpensive prizes to give to the winners.
Walmart.com and Amazon.com sells 28 oz. cans of Keystone shredded beef and shredded chicken that you can purchase online and have it delivered to your home to make quick barbequed beef or chicken by adding a bottle of Kraft Hickory Honey BBQ Sauce to it, and putting it on hamburger buns and adding a side dish of Marketside Tri-Color Coleslaw Mix using plain yogurt instead of mayonnaise if your foods are subjected to outdoors heat.
Labor Day menu suggestions are: Faux BBQ Beef recipes, Beef Hot Dogs, Faux Coleslaw, Bush's Baked Beans, Potato Salad, cans of Original Pringles Lightly Salted Potato Crisps or bags of Lay's Potato Chips, Whole Baby Dill Pickles, Yellow Mustard, Ketchup, Individually Wrapped Cheese Slices, Hot Dog Relish, Hotdog and Hamburger Buns, and Lemonade, Luzianne Sweet Iced Tea with individual True Lemon packets, and a large assortment of chilled soft drinks in a cooler filled with ice. Serve slices of Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice cream, Little Debbie Cakes individually wrapped, or Sliced Poundcake with Red and Blue Berries and Canned Whipped Cream for desserts. Just about all large supermarkets sell these items ready-made, so why bother cooking if you can buy them? Labor Day should be a day to rest and relax and just have fun with your family and friends.
