1999-2000 Awards

Wake Forest University:
Congratulations to the Varsity Members of our team: Lisa Condrey who won 6th place in Original Oratory, and Mandy Ticknor who broke to Quarter-Finals and recieved her Degree of Honor. Congrats also to Jessica Caldwell, Jimmy Ronk, and Kyle Bentley. Also we wish to congratulate our Hillcrest friends, our favorite people to chill with. Casey Chapman won 1st place DI, and Lowell Hill and Chad Roberts broke to Semi-Finals.

Bob Jones Academy:
Great job Lisa Condrey on winning first place Original Oratory, and congratulations to Mandy Ticknor on her first trophy for fourth place Humorous Interpretation.

Riverside High School:
Props to the members of our team. Jessica Caldwell for ninth place Oral Interpretation, Mandy Ticknor fourth place and Karen Jones won sixth place in Humorous Interpretation, Jessica Osburne and Lauren Morgan won fifth place Duo Interpretation, and Lisa Condrey won fifth place Original Oratory.

Freedom High School:
We're proud of all of you! Lisa Condrey won second place Original Oratory, Kyle Bentley second place Dramatic Interpretation, and Jessica Caldwell first place Oral Interpretation and second place Storytelling.

Mauldin High School:
Awesome job Lisa Condrey (first place OO), Kristin Carter (fourth place OI), Lindsay Godo (third place Storytelling at her first tournament!), and Carrie Pearson & Jessica Caldwell (sixth place Duo Interpretation).

Youth in Government:
GHS rocks! Lisa Condrey won the Philip T. Bradley Leadership award (a $750 scholarship), Adam Whipple and Angela Johnson's bill was signed by the Youth Governor, and our captains, Rachael Bradley and Kyle Bentley, were recognized for outstanding leadership. Our competitors were also recognized by winning Premier Delegation. We are all so proud of you!

Greenville High School:
Our best yet, and it keeps getting better!! Lisa Condrey won third place Original Oratory, Miranda Reynolds fifth place Dramatic Interpretation, Dara Wilson and Rachael Bradley fifth place Duo Interpretation, Branddon Benson fifth place and Mandy Ticknor fourth place Humorous Interpretation, and Lindsay Godo first place Children's Literature.

Southside High School (hosted at Greenville Tech):
Well what an event this was! The first tournament we've ever been to that was snowed out! However, the three rounds that we did compete in proved to be good for our team. Congratulations Jimmy Ronk and Kyle Bentley (sixth place Duo Interpretation), Lauren Morgan and Jessica Osburne (second place Duo Interpretation), Dara Wilson and Rachael Bradley (first place Duo Interpretation), Jennifer Nutt (fifth place Humorous Interpretation), Mandy Ticknor (fourth place Humorous Interpretation), Lisa Condrey (second place Impromptu), and Jessica Caldwell (fifth place Poetry). Good job guys, and we'll see you all again soon!

Bishop England High School:
After a night of sleeping mummy style (right Dara?) we learned that sleep deprivation can actually help our team! Congratulations Kyle Bentley and Jimmy Ronk (first place Duo) Rachael Bradley and Dara Wilson (second place Duo) Carrie Pearson and Jessica Caldwell (fourth place Duo)and Lauren Morgan and Jessica Osburne (fifth place Duo). Kyle Bentley won third place DI and Miranda Reynolds won sixth in that event. We swept HI: first place going to Mandy Ticknor, Lindsay Godo third, Branddon Benson fourth, Lauren Morgan fifth, and April Berling sixth. Jessica Caldwell won first place in Prose/Poetry, and Lisa Condrey won first place OO and second place impromptu. Greer High also took home our first Sweepstakes trophy of the year. Congratulations everybody!

Hillcrest High School:
We had a lot of fun, made some lovely video-worthy pictures, and took home a few souveniors to help us remember. DI: Kyle Bentley, third place. HI: Lindsay Godo, sixth place; Lauren Morgan, fourth place. Kiddie Lit: PJ Frantz, fourth place; Lindsay Godo, third place. OO: Adam Whipple, sixth place; Lisa Condrey, fifth place. Duo: Jimmy Ronk and Kyle Bentley, fourth place; Dara Wilson and Rachael Bradley, first place. Congratulations everybody!

State Tournament (hosted at TL Hanna):
Proof that hard work pays off! Congratulations Dara Wilson and Rachael Bradley for winning first place Dramatic Duo, Carrie Pearson and Jessica Caldwell second place, Jimmy Ronk and Kyle Bentley fifth place in Humorous Duo, Lisa Condrey fourth place and Jennifer Nutt fifth place in Original Oratory, Jessica Caldwell fourth in Prose, and to our Cross-Ex team, who trophied at Semi-Finals.

District Tournament (hosted at Irmo HS):
A hard year of practice, and some tears at the end. Congratulations to all of our Districts qualifiers: Kyle Bentley (DI, Duo), Jimmy Ronk (Duo), Dara Wilson (Duo), Rachael Bradley (Duo), Jessica Caldwell (Duo), Carrie Pearson (Duo), Lauren Morgan (HI, Duo), Jessica Osburne (Duo) Lisa Condrey (OO), Jennifer Nutt (OO), April Berling (HI), Lindsay Godo (HI) and Miranda Reynolds (DI). Also we want to point out how proud of our finalists we are. Jennifer Nutt won seventh place in Original Oratory, Lisa Condrey won sixth place in Original Oratory, Kyle Bentley fifth place in Dramatic Interpretation, and Kyle Bentley and Jimmy Ronk won third place and are the first alternate to Nationals. We're proud of all of you for making it this far. Congratulations.
