Magic Within-Part 3
I fled with my few belongings and a pistol. I could feel my enemies closing in. I left the town as fast as I could. I was unsure of where I was going, yet somewhere inside of me I knew where to go and why I needed
to go to that specific place. I walked dirt roads, passing no one. I didn't even see a small animal. It was completely desolate. Somehow I did not feel my loneliness. I know it didn't matter because I would endanger anyone I brought along the way. I still felt them getting closer. I didn't know who I was running from. I just knew they wanted to
harm me. The wizard himself could have been in their group. I did not know. Maybe it was only him. i roamed on. I didn't eat. I didn't have the
need to. I was getting closer to the town every second. Finally, i reached it. My enemies were closer than ever. i had to hurry. i went to the end of the road that went right through the middle of town. I entered a shop there. I didn't know why. The
shop owner looked at me with knowing eyes. She knew me and why I was there even though I didn't know her. "Come here. I know what you need. You need protection, to be invisible from the ones who follow you. I have the key. Take this material and sew these mulberries on it. It won't take as long as you think. After that I will give you the silver ring thtat will piece it all together.
Hurry now. They are almost here," the shop owner tells me as she hands
me cloth, mulberries, and thread.
I take them and run into a dressing room. I begin to sew. When I am
done, I show it to the woman. She shakes her head in dismay.
"Here, I will do it," she says calmly.
"But what if they arrive before you are finished?" I say as I begin to
panic.
"Do not worry." I remain in the dressing room as she sews. I hear her whistle an unfamiliar tune. I begin to calm down. i hear someone enter the shop.
It is my enemy. My body becomes rigid and fear overcomes me. One goes on each side of the shop owner. She holds out my materials, wanting me to take th chance and grab them. I decided to do so. i darted between my enemies and grab my materials. The mulberries and cloth went around my hips as I continued to run from
the shop. I put the ring on my pointer finger on my right hand. I know I am invisible to all. In my head I hear the shop owner's voice. I am to find the commander and not allow anyone to see me. If anyone sees me then something terrible will happen to me. I don't know what it is, but I could just imagine. i venture everywhere in search of this
commander. I enter a place that had walls that were just mirrors.
Someone walked up to me.
"I can see your head-you're skull" they tell me, nonchalantly. That makes me afraid and so I fled. How could they see any of me? I was sappose to be totally invisible. i walk on. I see the commander
sitting at a bar. I whisper in his ear to try and get his attention. he does not respond. I begin to pull him away from hid buddies. He leaves willingly. Once
we are behind the wall, I remove my ring and reveal my identity. I try to explain my situation to him. "Your head is showing. That means it will be cut off. I am sorry.
There is nothing I can do about it. You must've messed up somehow," the
commander says to me as people pass by. i look away solemnly. Unsure of what to say or do. One of the commander's men came and told him that there was trouble. The commander bids me farewell, leaving me dumbfounded. i go to return to my invisible
state, but i have dropped my ring. I fall to the ground and frantically search for it. i can't find it. Suddenly, I am attacked by a young man. I am unsure as to why he would
do that. I struggle with him while a girl who was sitting not too far off, walks up to us. She holds a dagger and places it to my arm.
"This hurts, doesnt it?" she says menacingly, as she drags the dagger
along my soft flesh, causing me to bleed profusely. I squirmed, but the man was too strong. It was useless. I decided to delay what seemed inevitable, but turned out not to be so. I went on about how great of a couple they'd make. They paused. I went on about
it until they decided that I was right. They walked off, arm in arm,
sparing my life temporarily.
